I was just wondering what is the best way to show off your bookself? I don't have a lot of books on my shelf and I've put posts on the bazar, but that didn't seem to work. I have some special books, like Large Print and some other stuff. Just curious. Thanks!

You can advertise the large-print book in the large-print books forum. Also, get active in the forums, and maybe play a game in the games forum. Find some buddies who have similar tastes to yours and do a bit of personal trading.

I think I get a lot of hits just from people checking out my shelf after seeing my posts on the forums. Just your post here will get a number of folks looking.

Just be patient. It may take a while for things to get moving. In the meantime, you can stretch your credits by playing a game in the games forum or by taking advantage of someone else's deal in the bazaar.

Good luck!

Probably the best way is to just post in the forums--go to the genre forums of the type of books you like to read (mystery, paranormal, fantasy or whatever) and start up a discussion. The traffic is lower on those forums, but IMO it's the best place to really get to know folks who share your taste in reading, and people are more likely to check out your shelf if they know you like the same kind of books! The Book Bazaar forum gets so crowded and so full of people hawking deals that it's hard to get really 'noticed' there I think.

You might also check out the games forum--I haven't played games in a long time but maybe they have a game for Large Print books, and if they don't, perhaps you can suggest the idea?

Oops, posting at the same time as Jane--it seems that great minds think alike! :o)

It has been my understanding that the only approved place to advertise your shelf is in the bazaar.

However, it is also acceptable to put information about your shelf in your signature line. It then shows up on every post you make in the forums. I see you have already done that, but I would make it more specific. Although I am personally not usually interested in "you never know what", I am sure there are lot of members interested in Large Print (and whatever other "special" books you may have.)

I have to agree that being an active poster helps with orders.  Many times I have posted books that have quite a few copies posted but get ordered pretty quickly from me.  It's always a name I recognize as a regular poster.  I do the same thing.  I'll check the shelves of people I see on here regularly before I order from FIFO. It may seem unfair but after you've had several book requests go through 2 or 3 people before being accepted-it's nice to order from someone you now is on here a lot.
