I went ahead and volunteered to work the Friends of the Library sale this weekend, so if you guys have requests, let me know and I'll try to find some things for you.  I know the historicals that are heavily wishlisted for the most part, but if there's newer stuff, paranormal or contemporary authors that are hot & hard to find, toss some names at me, and I'll take a list.  Lists of titles are too much to juggle when you're browsing through that many books, but I can manage some crib notes with author names, I think:P

My mind's drawing a blank, but just wanted to say that I hope you have fun and also find lots :)  Let us know how big a sale yours is--I'm always curious to learn what the sales are like at other libraries!

I have a library sale coming up in a couple of weeks, so I'll be interested in your list - and maybe use it there too! I did well last year - 3 hard cover copies, very new, of some Gabaldon Lord John books, for instance. But then I got some stinkers too - good quality MMP but too common!!

ETA: Mine's a very very tiny library, out here in rural AZ desert, but there's hundreds of books!

The historicals that I would be thrilled to find are Greenwood by Sue Wilson and anything by Lynne Connolly.  I think all the Connolly books are trade size though.

Also I have started a wonderful mystery  with a thread of romance series by Julia Spencer-Fleming -- the Clare Fergusson, Russ Van Alstyne books.  I need Bk 4, To Darkness and To Death and her new hardcover if it should show up, I Shall Not Want.  All of the books are lightly wishlisted except the first one and there are only ten copies of it.

Have fun and thanks for offering to look!!

Just wanted to add in the paranormal category, anything by Sarah A. Hoyt.

I'll do my best, darlin':)  I heard back from the coordinator a little while ago and they need me both days & for the repacking when the sale ends.  I'm actually doing this hoping it nets me some freebies and little bonus perks:P  It was amazingly easy; I just sent a couple of emails and they were practically panting for the extra help:P  It's the Louisville (KY) Free Public Library FOL sale, and we have about a dozen branches, plus the main one downtown, which is huge, so you can imagine, it's a pretty big sale.  I didn't find a lot of goodies at the last one in June, but I did make a bit of money reselling some rare stuff I found - maybe $100, so it was kinda cool.  Nothing extra-special for my personal collections though.  A few Mary Balogh and Georgette Heyer books, but man, they were really old and had been read a lot:P  I'm hoping this one is more productive.  I've heard the fall sales are usually bigger, for whatever reason.  They always have tons of Harlequins there too, but aside from the authors who write full length historicals and some of the bestseller titles in the other sub-genres, I usually don't recognize names, and since I don't read any Harlequins, I tend not to pay too much attention to them.  On Sunday, books will be $10 a boxload, and I'll get an extra 25% off of that for volunteering, so really, if there's some particular author anyone wants me to keep an eye peeled for, just let me know.  They let me fill my wheeled crate thingy instead of one of their boxes, and it can hold about twice as many books:P

My ten year old really wants these two books(I know they are not romance--but I thought I would throw it out there anyway)

Falling Up  by Shel Silverstein

A series of unfortunate events-Book 13--The End -- by Leminy Snicket

She is deslexic and has struggled with reading for years. at the begining of the school year she was reading on a 2-3rd grade level. I knew part of her problem was that she just wasnt interested in the books she was reading. She wanted me to buy her tickets to go see Metallica in concert and I told her that if she read one book on her grade level -5th  -I would take her to see them. She picked up the first series of unfortunate events and LOVED it. She read it on 3 days and is already on the 4th book. I found all of them except the last one at a FOL sale.

So now we are going to Metallica and I am looking for more books for her to read

Jennifer, I used own all Kathleen E. Woodiwiss (LOVE her books) but once I saw the new covers I fell in love with them and I knew I had to get rid of the ones I had so I can make room the new once but unfortunately everybody seems to own the old version and never the new once.

Kim, $10 for box full of books sounds great..plus 25% off means you will get full box for $ 7.50. I wish our library would have more sales instead of once year like the way they do now

I went in this morning and signed up, and then did some browsing early.  Going back this afternoon to work from 3-5, so if anybody has any last minute requests for me to look for, let me know.  I haven't seen any of the stuff you guys want so far, but there are more boxes to be pulled out and dragged over to the tables, so I'll keep looking.  Pickings on the romance books seem pretty slim this time out though.  Dunno what's up with that.  Anyway, I found some to offer on the WL thread, and I'll post them when I get back home from working tonight so keep an eye peeled:P  I found  copies of:

Goddess of the Rose - by PC Cast

Passion - by Lisa Valdez

Through a Dark Mist - by Marsha Canham

Caressed By Ice - by Nalini Singh

Overtime, Under Him: Ellora's Cave

I won't be able to mail anything until near the end of next week though.  Postage money is all spent up until then:P  I don't think any of them had stickers, so at least I won't have to bust my butt cleaning them up.

Kim,

I know this is a little late, but if you could find any of Monings Highlander series in hardcover, I would really appreciate it!!  I've been looking for these for a very long time.  It might help to have another set of eyes doing some looking, too!!

I went through so many boxes of hardcovers today I thought I was gonna drop dead from moving all of them.  Everything is either Danielle Steele or Nora Roberts.  I think it's a conspiracy:P  There were some others scattered here & there but not much.  A few LaVyrle Spencer and Sandra Brown, but mostly it was box after box of Danielle Steele and Nora Roberts in the hardcovers.  I'm sure it will all be there when I go back tomorrow.  I worked until the sale closed today, and I'll be there 30mins before it opens tomorrow - plus it's boxload day.  That's about all that'll make it worth it this year.  Last fall's sale there were unopened boxes under every table in the romance section on the second day, but this year there are less than a dozen under the tables and all of them have been picked through.  Most of what's left is meat & potatoes stuff worth buying by the boxlaod to post on my PBS shelf, but there were precious few cherries to pick:P
