I figured I'd start this thread so that anyone who is looking for a workout buddy could post here, and anyone who wanted to be their buddy could PM them (or post here).  It might be helpful to find someone who is in the same boat--such as: needing to lose 50+ pounds, or needing to lose the baby weight, or even someone who is in shape, but just wants someone to be accountable to.

Another thing I thought might be fun is if anyone wanted to start a challenge, they could post about it in this thread to let people know, and then start a thread of their own about the challenge.  Challenges could be weekly, monthly, or whatever length you decide on.  Ideas for challenges could be a couch to 5k challenge, a lose 5 pounds this month challenge, get in 8 glasses of water daily challenge, get a bikini body by summer challenge, etc.

I'm thinking about it, and I'll probably start a challenge of my own soon, but I wanted to get this out there in case other people wanted to do it.  And if you've already gotten something going on, please post about it here, and I'll link to it.  I'll do the next post down for links and people looking for workout buddies, so it's all up top and easy to see.

I would love to find a buddy to be accountable too!

Here is my story.  On December 26, 2008, I started my diet/exercise program.  I needed to lose 25 lbs, and have been following a reduced calorie diet and a strict exercise program since then.  Well, I have taken off 20 lbs, and the last 5 just keep hanging on!  lol

Problem is, my modivation is lacking now.  I find myself making excuses to not workout, and I am not as committed to eating healthy, and letting things "slide".  I know the weight will creep back, been there, done that!

So finding someone to "check in" with regarding progress would be fun!

Hey Vicki !

I'm trying to loose 5-8 pounds as well and I am the same way like you are. Not that I like to make excuses to not work out but I definitely like to sneak in some chocolate and stuff.

I'm planning to keep a streict diet for the next three weeks, as soon as my husband is out of the country and I don't have to cook. O know when he returns I'll kepp the weigth off but for that I need to get rid of it first. LOL

I could be your buddy. :-)

Count me in!! I'm 35 years old, haven't ran in 15 years but somehow decided to do a 5k with my husband his brother, his wife, my cute adorable 6 year old niece and my by then 15 year old son in January. Now I'm not as out of shape as I was a year ago, I started dieting and excercising but NEED help to train for this

Tenia, I know what you are talking about. I haven't been a runner before but gradually trained for it the last year because I wanted to do a 5 K myself. I began with this plan: http://www.marathonrookie.com/half-marathon-training.htmland later took in all the others.

I couldn't participate in any marathon last year because I needed ankle surgery but I'm getting back on track with my training. At least on the treadmill. Outside isn't an option as long as my ankle is unstable. One false step and I'm out of the game. :-(

I joined the fitness center at work in January, except with busy work in the winter and getting sick I haven't been there as much as I should. My most horrible part of me is my eating habits. I cannot resist food. A couple years ago I lost like 30 lbs due to a lack of hunger so I was eating smaller meals, wish I could get back into that.
