I just received a book from my wish list.  The copy that was supposed to be coming was hardcover, but instead I got the soft cover World Book Night edition.  It has no ISBN and the inside cover says not for resale.  To me this is kind of like an ARC and shouldn't be postable and I'm inclined to mark it with a problem, but I thought I would double check with y'all first to see what you think.

Yes, wrong binding is a RWAP. And so is wrong ISBN, or no ISBN, on a book that was listed under a 10 or 13 digit ISBN. So, that's 2 reasons that you can RWAP for. Not for resale is OK, because we don't sell books here, as long as its not an ARC or any variation of Advance Copy. The reason those aren't allowed is because they are often not the final version of the book, not because they are also not for resale.

I guess I'm trying to figure out if I should ask for my credit back.  Can it be reposted with no ISBN if I then PM the requester and tell them it's a WBN edition?

It can be posted with no ISBN.  You could mention in the listing that it is a WBN edition.  But you're perfectly justified in asking for your credit back.  The ISBN and binding don't match what you ordered.

Ignore that it is a World Book Night edition on handling your swap. It is not the book you requested so it is a Problem swap - wrong book, wrong edition. When posting a book, the poster must agree that the book they are posting matched EXACTLY the Title, Author, binding Type, and ISBN. It sounds like 2 of those do not match on the book you received so you mark it as a Problem swap and you can ask for your credit back.

Then as for reposting.  These are complete reprinting of the books as far as I know so they are not ARCs. They are just printed without ISBNs and not for resale because the authors waived royalties and the books are given away.  They should be repostable as books without ISBNs. You can send in Feedback via the Contact Us link in the lower right under Company to verify that.
