Who do you think will win the World Series?  New York Yankees or Philadelphia Phillies?

As much as it pains me to say so, (Red Sox fan) I think the Yankees will win and will be rooting for them.  Don't tell any of the more rabid Redsox fans though!  ;)

Okay, I lied.  After the Phillies beat the Yankees last night in the opener at Yankee Stadium, my inner RedSox fan was rooting for the Phils.  Maybe it is in my DNA or something, I can't bring myself to root for the Yankees.  The only teams I root for are the Red Sox and whoever is playing the Yankees.  I'm sure Yankee fans also root for the Yanks and whoever is playing the Red Sox.  :)  There, I feel better now............

1. The Yankees have the better team. What happened in the third game is demonstrative of why the Yankees will win. They get all the calls. First , the man in blue (why don't they just paint penstripes on their chest protectors?)  puts Texiera on base when he should have been OUT. Then they get together and quickly decide that A-Rod's hit would have changed its trajectory and leaped over the fence had the camera not been there. So the Yankees have two runs when they should have had a runner on second or third with two outs. That may not have been decisive as Hamels was rapidly losing what stuff he had, but if and whenever it gets crunch time, the Yankees will get all the calls.

I'm not much into baseball, but I do like watching the series.  I'm one of those NJ fans who considers any NY team as one of ours such as Giants, Yankees & Jets.    So I can't help but root for the Yankees - especially since my husband worked on the steel construction of their new stadium.  I'll be rooting for them tonight.... if I can stay awake.

Stay awake is so right!  It's the top of the 2nd and I'm already trying to keep my eyes open.  What happened to day games??? :)

Follow the money, as they say.  Day games don't generate enough revenue for MLB, the teams, the network, hot dog vendors, etc.  Sad, really.  It would be helpful if they would at least start the games like at 7:00 so they'd be over at a reasonable time.

Congratulations Yankee fans!!  Great game.  It was nice to see some of the older players like Matsui, Petite, and Rivera playing such a big part in this win.
