I read a book every two to three days, so apparently am not too choosy. Out of the past 200 books that I have read, I think this is only the second one that I could not finish. I made it 125 pages and still didn't care about a single character. We have friends that have lived in Cambodia for 25 yrs and even that family was.... oh well. If you haven't tried this author. I would recommend that you start at Love Wife. It was at least an unusual, quirky story with fun insights into relationships.
I enjoyed this book, despite being lengthy. The only thing that bothered me was, I still felt a piece missing from Hattie, as if the author held her back even until the book was done. I was looking for almost a resolution with the character, but felt like it never came.
