I'm new at reading this type of genre. I do find it fascinating reading the "behind the scenes" versions of what was going on in the white house and government during some of the biggest events. Being a retired military person, reading the sequence of events that led up to some of the decisions that affected my life was interesting. This book does feature a totally different spin on the events that led up to and occurred during the Benghazi attacks, then what is being talked about on the news. It even touches on the events that led up to the bin Laden raid. When the book was being released they had democrats on the news saying things like "I can't believe that he released this with the President still sitting in office." Making you think that he unleashed some anger towards Obama. This absolutely did not happen. I got the impression that Panetta really admired Obama and enjoyed working for him. He did have some few choice words concerning Congress. With Obama it was more like constructive criticism and even it wasn't that bad. A good book that touches on the long career of Leon Panetta from the Nixon years to Obama. He started off as a congressional aide and ended as Secretary of Defense.
