An enjoyable read. The book is a bit darker than the movie, but more realistic. However, seeing the movie before reading the book allowed me to picture Dean Martin as Matt Helm and use his voice during the read. I would recommend you do the same. It adds a different and positive dimension to the book. This is especially true if you're a Martin fan like me.

Second in the Matt Helm series. The cover states: "...Any of you who go for action stories with spies, counterspies, beautiful women, torture, brutality, violence and chocolate layer cakes should forthwith make the acquaintance of Matt Helm, as tough an operative as ever crushed a Russian spy's kidney with a crowbar." Nor subtle, but fun!
