I have the following book that I am trying to post to my bookshelf:

A Southern Wind by Gene Lancour  ISBN:  1-884907-98-9  Published in 1982 by Paradise Press

Problem is that when I type that ISBN into the system, I get "Waters of Eden" or something like that.   Not even close to the same book.  Should I list this without the ISBN or what? Any suggestions for a newbie?

Short answer: yes.

from help:

Problem: the ISBN brings up a Listing Preview showing a totally different book than the one you have:

Explanation: This happens when publishers assign ISBNs to more than one title.

On PBS, only one book listing can be attached to each ISBN. The one you are seeing on the listing preview is the one attached to that ISBN at PBS.

Solution: You will need to post this book with a customized listing for the book, using the Post Books without an ISBN link on the Post Books page.

Kalualani is right; you'll need to post it as if it didn't have an ISBN.  FWIW, the "Waters of Eden" title isn't wrong; in fact, per Worldcat.org, this publisher appears to have used the same ISBN for 5 different titles by 5 different authors.  Naughty them. :-)

Cheers,
