I looked forward to this book for a while...unfortunately it is about the biggest waste of a credit I have seen in a long time. Once you get past the unpleasantness of the subject matter, the book has no substance to it at all. The author is repetitive with her stories and it basically reads like an uncorrected school essay paper-think grammar school or junior high-grammaticaland spelling errors and big sloppy paragraphs and all.

I was very disappointed in this book. I can't really believe the authors story. She claims they were poor with hardly any food, but in another chapter she tells how the housekeeper got fired because 2 of the girls were having a food fight. Also she claims they always had dirty, torn clothes, but she had plenty of pictures included in the book where they were all dressed very nice. One was of a brother on a pony with a cowboy suit on. Very brief on alot of stuff.

I agree with the other two reviewers- this was a waste of time and paper. The "book" isn't a book- it's a pamphlet at best. The author repeated most everything over and over and was utterly vague about anything she should have given details about. The editing was so poor it was almost unbelievable. Her rough draft of this story shouldn't have been this bad. There were sentence fragments, run-on sentences, misspelled words, punctuation used wrong or not at all, sentences so poorly constructed that my toddler daughter could do a better job, you name it and it's here.
I left a more detailed on goodreads.com because that's where I usually leave my reviews and I almost left NO review because I feel so embarrassed for this woman. I would be mortified to have my name and/or picture on this "work".
