I love this book. I love all the authors books. The only book by this author that was not my favorite was Bedding A Duke.

Wow. This book was simply wonderful. It's one of those books that when you put it down, you're smiling like crazy and can't stop. The back of the book is misleading to say the least. Much of what's said on the back is out of place and what it implies happens in the book doesn't happen the way they make it sound. It's so much better. Definitely don't judge this book by the back cover. I loved conversations throughout the book and the heroine's aunt and her friends were absolutely brilliant. I'm glad both hero and heroine figured out they loved each other shortly after meeting instead of hemming and hawing about it throughout the whole book. The misunderstanding was dealt with amazingly and with a lovely twist. I read it in less than a day. I couldn't put it down.

James Ferrington did something incredibly stupid and chased away the woman he is quickly becoming infatuated with. Widow Caroline Pearson, has never been in love; was an emotional slave to her husband; and is fearful of marriage and being put in the same situation again. She resists James to the best of her ability but hence it is not enough. The courtship is interesting and quite comical when Caroline's scandalous aunt adds her two cents. An amusing tale with a sweet ending.

I now use the phrase "whisker burn" because of this book :). I love the independence of Caroline. Her aunt and her aunt's friends are a riot. Never gets overly serious and is always entertaining.

The constraints of quiet widowhood have become to much for Lady Caroline to bear especially now that her brother in law has gambled her house away.
