what kind of demand is there for young adult/ childrens books? My kids and I are both using this site and they listed some of their books to swap for others. The trouble is there doesn't seem to be much interest in kids books. Is there a way to promote them? The kids are kinda bummed since there's been nobody snatching them up yet. Is there another website that specializes in swapping kids books?

Depends on what they are really. I just type the ISBN in the search & see if it's posted.

If you are looking for books for your children, consider taking them to the bookstore or Amazon.com and letting them tell you what they are interested in. Then you can look for it here-- or add it to your wishlist. I find that these books do end up popping up. Moms tend to post books once in awhile, and even I post books from my childhood and teenage years when I return home! As for requests, there are other people on the site just like you-- so be patient-- requests will come in time! Good luck!

I haven't had that many YA/Kids books on my shelf... maybe about 10% of my shelf.  They "seem" to move slower, but maybe thats because I don't have that many.

You might try running a special in the Book Bazaar forum, such as 3 books for 1 credit.  A lot of YA/Kids books are very light and the shipping for 3 or more is often the same as shipping 1.  Someone gets a deal and your kiddos get a credit and the excitement of having an order.

Something like:

SUBJECT:  Make My Kids Day - 3/1 Special...I have posted their books

I have listed some books for my kids and they keep asking "Do we have any orders yet, Mom?" and I sadly keep saying no.  Please help make our day.

You can order one book from the shelf and then post here and PM me to let me know which two books you would like as freebies.

I have over 500 children/teen books and they do move but you have to give it some time. I looked through your list of  children's books and most of them looked pretty common. You can add them to your reminder list and then see how many copies are in the system to get an idea of how long it might take to move them.

I would do as others mentioned, offer a deal in the Book Bazaar.

Hi Jami.  I would definitely post a topic like Lita showed you.  I think they would get snatched right up because you have a good variety.   Also, it might be good to try and add pictures and descriptions to all of your books that are missing information.   I will try to help you with that, but if you have time and what to get started here's the threads for that.

(by the way, if you are adding pictures you need to click on the upload book cover link at the bottom, that is the only way that works)

But, Jami I will try to get your bookshelf looking pretty.  I will work on it tonight.

Good luck!
