I think that the book contains over 90 daily devotions (I stopped counting at 30 and estimated). In the Introduction, the author shares the story of his job loss due to a restructuring and his subsequent shock and adjustment to a new direction. He sought, and did not find, devotional material to help him through his crisis. This book is the result of that crisis. At the end of the book is a 6 page annotated bibliography of recommended reading.
"The first part of the book is meant to bring the raw feelings out in the open--to put them on a level of consciousness where we can process them.... The middle section is intended to provide a resource for the experiences associated with the struggle of finding a new job.... The final group of devotionals moves into topics that are designed to help the reader consolidate and articulate what he or she learns through the upheaval and adjustments."
