Hi everyone, I wasn't quite sure where I should put this post, but I figured Love&Romance was a good place to start. Anyways, I been trying to get a hold of Zebra's Gothic Romance novels for the longest time. I just cleaned out my local used bookstore (which only had 5) and I've been trying to get a hold of them every where, including EBAY (Purchasing them via Amazon is quite expensive, $3.99 for shipping and handling for a book that costs $0.17). In five years, I've been able to acquire a grand total of 12. If you have a bunch of these Zebra Gothic Romances that you're dying to give rid of or know someone who is trying to get rid of them, PM me and together we can possibly come to an agreement of some sort. Thanks for your help! |

Maybe if you posted a list of some of the titles you are looking for. I know I have some Zebra books in my TBR but I don't know if they are gothics or what ones I have that are zebra. (I have over 600 so it's not like I can go through them easily) Or maybe a link to a list of them somewhere. |

Kristen, Gee, I wish I'd seen a post like yours 3-4 years ago... I had over 100 of the bodice rippers published by Zebra. I sold them in bulk lots on eBay. (Hey, I didn't know about PBS back then). I just checked and there are a few such lots available now. Do an eBay search in the Books category for keywords "zebra, romance, lot" Also, for a list of the books published by Zebra during the 1980's and early 1990's (the grand era of heartless heroes and unwilling women), check out fictiondb.com. You can search by author name to get booklists including ISBNs, synopses, etc. OR use the SERIES search field to search for "Zebra Lovegram" or "Zebra Heartfire". Heartfire is the older line of the 2, with books being published between 1987-1994. With a premium subscription ($20/yr), you can search by publisher and get a list of all the Zebra titles. Either free or premium, you can keep track of what books you have and what books you want. I might also suggest that you sign up here on the PBS site for Box-O-Books. I frequently see the bodice rippers on boxer shelves. In the BoB search, you could search for "lovegram" "heartfire" or "zebra" in the title field, with "Romance" in the genre field so you don't get zoo board books. I have a dozen or so. I'll PM you with a list and an offer. Colleen

Here is good Kristen. Other threads may be appropriate also, such as "Is this on your bookshelf (Sept 09)", or paranormal has a thread for "Top 5 most wanted books". As already mentioned, make a list of what you don't have yet and just keep getting the word out...good luck! |

Wow! Thanks so much Colleen! I see some of the ones I have on there and this should make my search a bit easier. I'd join Box of Books if there is a member or several members that a bulk of these available. Purchasing them one by one is draining my wallet. |

We're not done yet! Zebra Books is an imprint of Kensington Publishing Corp. (at least it was when these trashies were printed)... Remembering that led me to a fictiondb.com search for goths by Kensington.
Now, that search took less than 10 seconds on fictiondb.com and that site offers more info about each book, plus a link to copies available on A'zon. Best investment ever for L&R readers. As far as Box-O-Books goes, a quick search showed that one user, Susan H., has 6 books that are on the lists I've posted here:
She has several others that, by their titles, would suggest they're gothics. They just aren't on the lists above. Sooooo, whether you go for Box-O-Books or hunt up Susan H. and ask for a deal... There are ways to build your collection without going too broke. Colleen |

You're very welcome, Kristen. But I'll only do the legwork for you once. *wink* |

I don't have any of those. I think the zebra books I have are more of the Bodice Ripper genre and not gothic. |

I think I might start tagging some of these as "gothic" or "gothic romance" since I am interested in this genre and would like to know when I come across them on other's shelves too. Thanks for the lists! |
