Both are involved in other areas of nutrition besides diabetes - Mrs. Monk as a facilitator of bulimia and weight control groups and Ms. Franz as a speaker and writer for SHAPE, a wellness program in Minneapolis. Ms. Franz is the author of the very popular 'Exchanges for All Occasions,' a book that helps people with diabetes, family members and health professionals cope with special meal planning situations while adding variety, flexibility and fun to their nutrition lifestyle.
