Then her wallet goes missing. And Bennie's life goes crazy.
Someone is posing as the outspoken, blue-eyed, blond attorney and is wreaking havoc around town, apparently determined to destroy everything Bennie loves. Only one person can pull off this double deception -- Bennie's identical twin sister, Alice Connelly. But as far as Bennie knows, Alice left Philly long ago and never looked back.
When events escalate into murder, the maverick lawyer realizes that the stakes are far greater than she feared. But Bennie Rosato refuses to be anyones victim. To find the killer, she'll plunge headfirst into a life-and-death investigation that will bring her face to face with evil darker, yet more familiar, than anything before.

When she's good, Scottoline is very, very good. Maybe Bennie "solved" this murder (in her head) a little too neatly and unexpectedly (and a litttttle hard to buy), but all in all this Bennie Rosato is one of her most enjoyable. Can't wait to see David again!

After attorney Benedetta Rosato loses her wallet, she receives bills for identical dresses she didn't buy and is arrested for a robbery she didn't commit. Bennie's evil twin, Alice, an ex-con and sociopath, is back in town and wreaking havoc. To make matters worse, the client who's about to save Bennie's firm from bankruptcy is murdered.

The Orlando Sentinel said "Gutsy Characters, smart repartee, and breathless action." The back of the book says: "Lawyer Bennie Rosato is fighting the battle of her life - against her own twin. The action starts innocently enough, with a stolen wallet, but in no time events escalate and Alice Connelly wreaks havoc that can be created only by a dead ringer. Connelly tries to destroy Bennie's law firm and then strikes at her very heart, which just happens to be otherwise engaged by a handsome hunky stranger with the perfect amount of chest hair. But when a brutal murder occurs Bennie realizes that the stakes have turned deadly. And the face of evil looks like her own."
This is a great read - continuing the saga of Rosato & Associates with Philadelphia as one of the characters.

Another good book by Lisa Scottoline, although not her best. Some of the sub-story lines were a little far-fetched...the way a couple of characters just popped in. Not Scottolines best work. But still a good read.
