Book Description:

Hard-nosed, bitch-goddess London fashion editor Lisa Edwards was certain her "fabulous" promotion would mean more A-list parties, society page photos, and jet-setting jaunts to the fall collections.

Instead, she's being deported, Prada wardrobe and all, to supremely un-chic Dublin to launch Colleen magazine. Her assistant editor, over-organized world-class worrier Ashling Kennedy, however, is thrilled with her new job . . .until she discovers it comes with a very high price tag: Lisa Edwards. And then there's Ashling's oldest, dearest chum, Clodagh "Princess" Kelly, who seems to have achieved true happily-ever-after suburban fairy tale bliss -- but lately has this irresistible urge to kiss a frog. The chances of three such diverse, equally unsatisfied women bonding would be remote anywhere except in staid Dublin town, "the magazine version of Siberia." And once they do, they're going to start shaking things up -- in print and out of it -- especially when Colleen's rumpled, moody, wickedly attractive head honcho Jack Devine is tossed into the mix.

Not my favourite Keyes novel, but a fun read nonetheless. The main problem is that it takes the book quite a while to reach cohesion. The individual storylines of the three women - Lisa, Ashling, and Clodah (who no one ever seems to call "Princess" - are mildly interesting, but until they actually start interacting with eachother and with others, the story doesn't really hold together. Once it does, though, it picks up speed. The book description is a little bit misleading, as there's certainly no bonding between the three of them and not much bonding between the two of them, plus the end result is that some un-bonding actually occurs.

I found this one to be completely predictable and a bit disappointing. Either I've been reading far too much chick-lit lately or I just really don't like Marian Keyes.

Story told through different peoples POV, i enjoyed knowing what everyone thought of the other characters and how they all ended up being "friends".

I really enjoyed this book. This was my first by Marian Keyes and I liked it well enough to read others by her.

Keyes' characters are always a little quirky and they are far from perfect. Her books take a slightly different perspective on situations and this makes her books very unique and fun to read.

Startlingly good book, and Keyes is a dynamite writer. This is a chick-lit must-read, and one that gives the whole genre some credibility.

I picked this book up on a recommendation and for the life of me I just couldn't get into it. I read the first 100 pages or so and it just didn't do it for me. Although I've heard great reviews about this author, she just wasn't for me.

This is a fun little book similar to "Bridget Jones' Diary." Like sushi, it's quick and light.

This takes place in Ireland and is about two woman finding love. Of course the road to love is not what it seems and the story follows their paths. A good enjoyable beach read.

Too many storylines bogged this down a bit, but it's a fun read with laugh-out-loud humor.
