It's the last race of the season, and the wheels are smoking and the temperature is rising at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Alexandra Barnaby is NASCAR driver Sam Hooker's raceday spotter, his eye-in-the-sky, telling Hooker when to pass and when to get off the gas. From her vantage point high above the grandstand she's also seeing things going on in the infield that will change her life. Things that will lead to a stolen racecar hauler, a kidnapped Saint Bernard, a bizarre murder, some restless nights under the covers with Hooker, and a reunion with super cigar roller Rosa Florez and the queen of wholesale fruit Felicia Ibarra.
From Miami, Florida to Concord, North Carolina and back to Miami this is an action-packed multi-car crash of shady dealings, stolen technology, drive-thru windows and destruction of personal property. Everything you always wanted to know about righteous indignation, stealing an eight-wheeler, stashing a dead body, and sex in the fast lane.

I used to really like the Stephanie Plum series, but I found them becoming too predictable. This series is a nice change. I like the fact that the protagonist is smart, good with mechanical things, and isn't always a bumbling idiot. Sure, I can probably relate to Stephanie more on a personal level, but I don't mind reading about someone who is quite my polar opposite. Lots of fun to read!

I read Metro Girl and figured I needed to read Motor Mouth. Well, when I got this one, I couldn't even get a quarter of the way through it. The story was so unbelievable(I know, I know, it's just a book) but it was too, too, too much for me.

Alex Barnaby is back with Hooker, Rosa & Felicia in tow! Just as witty and fast-paced as Metro Girl...had me laughing out loud.

Written in typical Evanovich style, this is a new character for Stephanie Plum lovers. The descriptions, situations, and characters have the free-wheeling Evanovich stamp. You'll laugh your way through this high-octane adventure involving a NASCAR driver, a St. Bernard, and lots of dead goons.

The best Barney/Hooker book yet! Mix in Barney, Hooker, a stolen hauler and lots of laughs. (Plus Felicia and Rosa are back!) Loved it, can't wait for the next one.
