Book Description:

I'm dead. Damn.

I was hoping to see how the Mariners wind up this season. Since I was too busy making my millions writing mysteries to have any blood heirs, I've decided to set up a treasure hunt, with the prize being my entire estate.

I've chosen six lucky participants to play, including Evie Randall, who is like a daughter to me, and Max Galloway, my stepson. Max is bull-headed and, for a police detective, he's not too smart about women. And sweet Evie ... She's so busy taking care of everyone else, a man will have to literally sweep her off her feet before she'll notice him. That's why I want them to work together to earn my moolah. Maybe a hard-headed, good-looking guy and an innocent gal will hit it off and find love. Weirder things have happened.

And if it turns out that my death was by less-than-natural causes, Evie and Max might want to join forces to help find my murderer. Of course, that would mean seriously risking their own necks. But what the hell, life is a crap shoot, right? Have fun, kiddies.

I read this book a few days ago.I went right out and bought her first one because this was so great a read. This author is going to be big. It has been years since I have read dialogue so funny I was laughing through this book. I am keeping her books to reread when I need a good laugh. So far, I can only find 2 books by her listed.

I read this on a plane and was laughing out loud the whole way. I had to read passages to my husband, who smirks at the romance novels I read. The humor, great dialogue, ROMANCE, and story - terrific! The chemistry of the hero and heroine jumps off the page from the start. I read Damsel in This Dress and loved it equally. Ms. Stillings has a way with words and I can't wait to read her third book when it comes out.

I picked this book up on a whim and boy am I glad! If you loved Clue as a kid or just crave a hillarious and well written story, this is the book for you! The dialogue both internally and between characters was brilliantly written and the author gives beautifully lyrical description.

One of the main characters , Thomas Heyworth, has just died. He was a reclusive, odd, rich, mystery writer. Since he has no heirs to leave his millions and Mayhem Manor to he stages a treasure hunt to determine the winner. He pairs up people from his past into teams, stages clues, and sets a time limit. But a new twist is added since Thomas was murdered. Just before he died he knew who was going to make an attempt on his life and sends letters letting the contestants know that the murderer will be revealed by the winning contestants...and that one of the people in the room with them is the killer. Will the killer be revealed or will our charcters fall prey to the suspicions of one another and do each other...in? Read and find out! I'm not telling!

I really enjoyed this book. It's a mystery without being too creepy, a romance without being too sappy, and has a good bit of humor thrown in, too. I will certainly recommend this in the future.

Not my normal style of book, but I quite enjoyed it. It was full of nice dialogue, great interactions between the hero and heroine without being too 'smutty', nice writing. I would recommend even to people who aren't usually a fan of this genre.

This book has a murder, a treasure hunt, romance, and riddles. A light, entertaining read.

Cute little romance. Not a bodice ripper.

My second read of Marianne Stillings & she's already on my list of favorites. Another funny, different read. Smart & fun! If you liked The Westing Game as a child you will love this book.

This is another great book by Stillings. I read Arousing Suspicion which was great also.

This book is about Evie and Max. They are involved in a treasure hunt, a hunt for a murderer, and a search for love.

The murdered guy, a mystery writer, sets up the treasure hunt before his death, the prize being his entire estate. Max is the writer's stepson and a cop. Evie is the girl the writer took into his home when she was 12. The two of them are joined as a team to look for the treasure. During the treasure hunt, there are numerous attempts on Evie's life. Needless to say, Max is there to protect.

This is a laugh out loud book that reminds me of Sandra Hill's writing.

Sexy, funny and can't turn-the-pages-fast-enough book. What more could you ask for?
