It starts with a rush decision to purchase a puppy without completely research his lineage and leads us through a love story with a very difficult, loyal, loving dog. Anyone who thinks that the initial cost of buying a pedigree pet is the major expense needs to read this book. Anyone who thinks training a pet is as snap needs to read this book. Anyone who is about ready to give up on a difficult pet also needs to read this book. Get your kleenex ready for the ending, for as we know no dog is eternal. The postscript, there are many more loving pups awaiting loving owners. I loved this book, another dog lover said, " I thought it was so sad." Of course it was, Marley grew old in a loving home and passed away. I should be so loved.

This book was wonderful.
I couldnt put it down. This dog was the sweetest big hearted fellow with a few behavioral problems.
This is one of my favorite books EVER.
It shows us all that dogs really do know everything about life.
I was so upset when it ended.
It is a MUST READ for all dog lovers!
But honestly, anyone could read it and love it.

I must say, this book made me cry. And everyone I know, LOVES this book. There was a LINE of people waiting to talk to the author at a book show about their own dogs and how much they love this book.
This book is currently at my inlaws house waiting to be read by them. And I bought a copy for my father.
If you have ever loved a dog, this is the book for you! LOVELY writing.

Read this in one day, staying up until the wee hours to finish. A loving tribute to a dog, who despite his flaws, was cherished and loved by his human family. A must-read for dog lovers.

What a wonderful story. Hearing that the movie was coming out I wanted to read the book first. What a wonderful story it made me laugh and cry. I made both my children read it too. Wonderful story whether you're a dog lover or not.

I've never laughed out loud so often while reading a book. Marley is incorrigible and completely lovable. Last night I finished Marley's story and cried like a baby while my husband snored beside me...Marley & Me is not just another cute puppy book. It is a story of life lived to the fullest, a heart driven by loyalty and a family's commitment whatever may come. Shouldn't that be the way we live our lives? John Grogan has outdone himself in writing this book.

This was one of the better books I have read. I have a Golden Retreiver, one year old, and I swear he is Marley's brother. I enjoy my dog more for reading "Marley." This is a book that keeps you smiling and sometimes laughing. The love that the family has for Marley is wonderful. No matter what Marley did the family forgave him and loved him even more. Marley is a puppy that never grew up.

I loved this book. It was so heartwarming and funny. I was crying just after reading the preface. This book made me appreciate my little Jack Russell even more.
