I really enjoyed this book. I read some of the not so great reviews on here and I must say, why read a book titled "Confessions of a Beauty Addict", when you read this genre of book, you realize that you are reading about a world most of us can only dream about. That's why most of us enjoy reading this genre it's living someone else's life for the duration of the book, viewing the world in someone's else's eyes. I didn't find her to be superficial. I found her to be an interesting character in the world of beauty. I enjoyed it throughly. It is what it is, if you like chick lit, you'll like it. If you want to read a Pulitzer winning book about struggles, then chick lit isn't for you. Chick lit is light and airy and most of the time fumny. It doesn't take it's self too seriously! If you want to zone out and not read a book that stresses you out even more, then it's a perfect genre!

As a longtime chick lit fan ( I <3 Red Dress Ink!), I couldn't wait to reach of the WL line for this one because it sounded terrific. Unfortunately, I found the cover blurb better than the book itself. The main character, Bella, comes across as very one-dimensional, brand obsessed, and not just plain not entertaining. I found her repeated glaringly stupid decisions grating. Also, the paragraphs are ridiculously long--one paragraph ran just shy of 2 full pages. Worst of all, I found it an incredibly boring read--it was predictable and felt very derivative. I'm glad so many others enjoyed this book, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I liked, lol.

Bella Hunter, beauty editor at chic magazine Enchante, is loving life and is at the top of her game. Her columns are the highest rated in the magazine and everybody knows her name. Then one fateful interview takes Bella down a notch to where no one, besides her best friends, wants to be associated with her. Feigning defeat and feeling completely out of luck, Bella is surprised to be given another chance but not with Enchante - with Womanly World, one of the most out-of-date, drab magazines out there! Bella soon realises that life isn't all about who you know and what designer you're wearing. She has to work hard to regain her image and respect in the industry all while pretending not to have feelings for her attractive but stiff boss. Will Bella learn more about herself than she ever thought she possibly could? Or will she want to go back to her life of glamour and glitz when offered? This is a wonderfully brilliant read that takes you into the whirlwind world of beauty with heartwarming and down-to-earth characters.
