Book Description:
IT WAS A CASE SHE COULD SINK HER TEETH INTO...

After seven hundred years of life, Marguerite Argeneau finally has a career. Well, the start of one, anyway. She's training to be a private investigator, and her first assignment is to find an immortal's mother. It seemed simple enough, until Marguerite wakes up one evening to find herself at the wrong end of a sword. Now she realizes she's in way over her head.

Julius Notte wants to protect Marguerite, and not because someone just tried to take her head off. She doesn't know it yet, but she's his lifemate and he's determined to woo her. It's been over five hundred years since he last courted a woman, but surely the techniques haven't changed. Now if only he can keep her alive -- so to speak -- so they can have that happily-ever-after.

While i will always read this particular series, because if you want a quick read, lynsay sands is good for that. She will never be a top author in my opinion. I enjoyed this book. But i was disappointed as usual with her writing. I enjoy the male characters of the series, but the females are all the same personality, just different names. Also the fact that Lynsay tends to write a dialogue between two characters, early on in the book and later has the same conversation with same characters, but as if the previous conversation never took place. She's done this in her other books. I find that frustrating. I grow nervous that i'm just reading the same book over and over whenever she released a new book in this series. But like i said, doesn't mean i'll stop reading it.........yet.

This book was a great read, good from start to finish. It was well written like the first books and keeps you captivated. I really enjoyed reading it and hated when I got to the last chapter. Didn't want this story to end.

I just recently started reading the Argeneau series and can't get enough!
I love the way Marguerite is portrayed in this one! I couldn't put the book down, and couldn't stop laughing at all the antics played out between the characters! Definitely a must read!

Marguerite's story in book nine of the Argeneau series. Excellent story line! This book answers a few questions raised in the earlier books about Marguerite's life with Jean Claude. A must read for Sands' fans.

Stop! Don't read this book unless you have read the 8 previous books. There are A LOT of characters in this book to keep track of. And reference is made to all of the previous stories. The Argeneau Family Tree in the front of the book is helpful. Ok, on to this book......this is Marguerite's story and it picks up where Book 8 (Vampires Are Forever) leaves off. Yes Marguerite is the woman who meddles in the affairs of all of her children's (and nephew's) lives. It definitely fills in some gaps and explains more about her relationship with Jean Claude. It was an enjoyable read and different from the other books with more suspense. I gave it 3.5 stars.

This series is so much fun. Strange that a "Immortal" series would be so entertaining. It is best read in order and this is getting late in the series but the more I read about the family Argeneau the better they get.

This book has lots twists and bends, quite enjoyable.

This author jumps ahead when telling her story as though nothing could have possibly happened in that time which I find annoying.

This is the first in the series that I read. It got going on the first page and I couldn't put it down until I was done. I really enjoyed this book and even though this isn't what I usually read, I can't wait to read more of the Argeneau vampires. Romantic, fun and a mystery too.

Enjoyable paranormal romance, with some interesting plot twists. But be warned: the family tree shown at the beginning of the paperback has a significant plot spoiler! I was very disappointed to have the book's main mystery ruined for me and would recommend avoiding those pages.

I really enjoyed this installment of the Argeneau family. It's refreshing to see an older heroine. Of course when you're talking about vamps, age is relative!
