Book Description:
This is the true story of Franz Wisner, a man who thought he had it all- a high profile career and the fiancée of his dreams- when suddenly, his life turned upside down. Just days before they were to be married, his fiancée called off the wedding. Luckily, his large support network of family and friends wouldn't let him succumb to his misery. They decided Franz should have a wedding and a honeymoon anyway- there just wouldn't be a bride at the ceremony, and Franz' travel companion would be his brother, Kurt.

During the "honeymoon," Franz reconnected with his brother and began to look at his life with newfound perspective. The brothers decided to leave their old lives behind them. They quit their jobs, sold all their possessions, and traveled around the world, visiting fifty-three countries for the next two years. In Honeymoon With My Brother, Franz recounts this remarkable journey, during which he turned his heartbreak into an opportunity to learn about himself, the world, and the brother he hardly knew.

I really enjoyed this book. A successful public relations manager gets dumped by his bride-to-be just days before his wedding, he can't get his deposit money back for his honeymoon trip. He desides to quit his job and take off globe trotting with his brother to heal his broken ego and get closer to his brother at the same time. This was an entertaining read. Good stuff.

I loved the book. It's about two searches, one for self and one of the globe. The latter helps the brothers (especially the eldest) find the first. The travel and truth of it, the fiscal and political state of places most of us will never bother to learn about are wonderful. I look forward to hearing more from the brothers.

A fairly enjoyable account of a man who recovers from a break up with his long-term fiance, gets to know his brother, and take a world round trip in the process. Most interesting when he shares what he learned about himself.

A "guy's travel" memoir. Unique concept. I related to a passage that describes the time it takes to really "let go" of our typical cares & level of tension that we carry around with us and get into a vacation. Interesting destinations.

Franz Wisner was left him a few days before the wedding. He goes ahead and has the wedding, making a few changes and then takes his brother on the two week honey moon trip they he had planned. I never did see the bonding that was suppose to be happening between the brothers. I did see to guys quit their jobs and run around the world for two years. Had a couple funny stories but overall feel short of a heart warming or humours book.
