Excellent book with a lot of twists and turns! It's very suspenseful read with excellent secondary character development.

This is the first book I've ever read by Carlene Thompson and it won't be my last! I loved this book. Wonderful mystery with a little bit of the supernatural at play. It really kept me guessing. Just when I thought I had it figured out the author would turn the story to make me suspect someone else. I absolutely LOVE books that keep me guessing. If you're looking for a good mystery to curl up with on a cold winter night I highly reccomend this one!

A dozen years have passed since then teen Zoey Simms vanished. When she disappeared, her sixteen years old best friend Chyna Greer feared the worst as this was out of character for Zoey.

With the death of her mother, Chyna left New Mexico to return to her hometown of Black Willow, West Virginia for the funeral and to help her brother Ned handle estate needs. She is shocked as she hears a voice that she knows is that of Zoey, but fails to see anyone and besides she assumed her friend was murdered all those years ago. Soon after her arrival, a girl disappears. Some of the townsfolk suspect Chyna as the culprit since nothing occurred when she was away. Only her former crush, Scott Kendrick, thinks otherwise and wants to help her, but he rejects her insistence that she has visions that she believes are the only hope to save the latest victim.

LAST SEEN ALIVE is an exciting romantic suspense thriller that grips readers when Chyna hears the voice of Zoey after twelve years of wondering. Chyna is a terrific star as she struggles with all that is happening to her and to her town. Although a final twist seems a bit over the top, sub-genre fans, who already know that Carlene Thompson is a top gun, will enjoy her latest taut tale.

This was a pretty good who-done-it. I was never quited certain who was the guilty one until the end of the book. There were also a few side mysteries which added to the story and the charicters were well developed. I would have rated it higher but I found the writing style to be a little cheesy. Also, I found a half a dozen editing mistakes (like when they were talking about person x they would call them a name that didn't even exist in the book) which I have never noticed in a book before. Over all it is a good read.
