Book Description:
Katie Wilkinson has found her perfect man at last. He's a writer, a house painter, an original thinker - everything she's imagined she wanted in a partner. But one day, without explanation, he disappears from her life, leaving behind only a diary for her to read.

This diary is a love letter written by a new mother named Suzanne for her baby son, Nicholas. In it she pours out her heart about how she and the boy's father met, about her hopes for marriage and family, and about the unparalleled joy that having a baby has brought into her life. As Katie reads this touching document, it becomes clear that the lover who has just left her is the husband and father in this young family. She reads on, filled with terror and hope, as she struggles to understand what has happened - and whether her new love has a prayer of surviving.

Written with James Patterson's perfect pitch for emotion and suspense, "Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas" captures beautifully the joys of a new family even as it builds to an overwhelmingly moving climax. This is an unforgettable love story, at once heartbreaking and full of hope.

I found this to be an excellent and quick read. It contained a complex story that kept the reader guessing until the end. It pulled your heart in different directions as you tried to figure out how you felt about each of the characters. If you liked "Sundays at Tiffanys" and "Sam's Letters to Jennifer", this will be another book you will enjoy. However, if you haven't, you can make this book your first and become hooked on James Patterson. I've recently only began to read James Patterson and am impressed with the variety of books that he writes. If you haven't tried him out, you should give his books a try.

A small book with a few twists. Not told chronologically, however. If you don't like flashbacks and telling-inside out, this would probably drive you nuts.

I wasn't sure how I'd like this book since I'm a mystery reader primarily. I loved it though. It was a bit of a tearjerker, one of the few that has actually managed to make me cry. And it still has some twists in it like a typical Patterson.

I love all of James Pattersons books. Interesting to read a romance by one of my favorite mystery writers! As always a quick reading story, his never quite last long enough:)

I am a big fan of James Patterson, but I feel this is one of his best, if not the best, I've read. I read many books, but this one is unforgettable.

I read this book in one evening, just couldn't put it down. Very easy to read. Heart-breaking story with a fairytale ending. I love the setting.. Martha's Vineyard. If you liked "The Notebook", then you will really like Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas.

I read this book in one day with a box of tissues sitting beside me. It's one of my favorites!

I read this book cover to cover in one sitting (with a few interruptions from my kids). It is a beautifully sad story about love and loss. I was sobbing by the end of the book. It's a very quick and worth while read.

I loved this book. It is very heart wrenching, and has a real surprise ending. It's a great read, a bit different from James Patterson's mystery/thriller, but different in a good way!

pure schmaltz.
overly dramatic- quite poorly written- read.
I was disappointed as I generally like James Patterson. I guess he should stick to suspense novels.
