I've enjoyed reading this series a couple of times - with a few years between. This is number 4 in the Magic Kingdom of Landover series. It started with a disillusioned lawyer (Ben Holiday) here in the USA buying his own magic kingdom - somewhere outside of the real world. This particular story occurs in both places and Ben has to rescue everyone involved, until he himself needs rescuing.

The fourth of five in a series, The Tangle Box, in a way reminds me of Pandora's box only instead of opening to let out problems to face it shuts what is a problem in. In this book, not only does the imagery draw you in but a sense of wanting to help also draws you in and captivates you.

Very good, fun read. Great for those who have already read the previous Landover books by Brooks.

Ben found himself imprisoned within the gloom of the Tangle Box, lost in its mists and its labyrinthine way. The only one who could free Ben from the Tangle Box was the lady Willow. But she had disappeared, was gone from Lanover on a mysterious mission of her own.
Another "Magic Kingdom of Landover" novel. Ben Holiday is not the only modern inhabitant of the kingdom -- and how he is trapped in the magic Tangle Box where the evil sorcerer had once been kept safe. How will he get out?
Ex-lawyer Ben Holiday's peaceful reign as king of the magic realm of Landover takes a decided turn for the worse with the arrival of con man and conjurer Horris Kew, an unwitting agent for an evil power that seeks to control the good folk of the kingdom. Where Brooks's popular Shannara novels (The Talismans of Shannara, LJ 2/ 15/93) pay tribute to traditional epic fantasy, his Landover series-of which this is the latest-displays the author's genuine flair for humorous fantasy.
