This story is about a teenage girl is defiant, beautiful and borderline delinquent who's parents try to get her help through a psychologist. Does the treatment work and does the girl get better?
The book addresses the toubled life of this struggling teenager and the ups and downs the doctor faces in trying to treat her. Secrets are found out and mysteries come about when the doctor struggles to find out about the girls' troubled past.
Despite the girl's parents and her doctor, the girl is found dead and the doctor is left to uncover the mystery of the girls' murder.
Topics include the sex industry, mortal danger, big money and lust in the unforgiving city of Los Angeles.

Another awesome entry in the Alex Delaware series. It has many twists and turns, and some important insights into Alex's relationship with Robin.

Another of Kellerman's "Alex Deleware" novels, this book is fast paced, fun to read and has a GREAT story! I couldn't put it down, as the story brought you from the very rich to the very poor of L.A., from the academic halls of a local college to the inner circles of L.A.'s "serect" worlds. Very good read, and as always an ending you won't soon forget!

I thought I'd really love this book since Alex Delaware is a psychologist and I'm a mental health therapist. I love psychological suspense stories but don't like at all the kind of mysteries where questions are asked of those who knew the victim which leads to conjecture which leads to more questions asked, which leads to....well, you get my point. I did like the main character Alex and his cop partner, Milo. However, the victim, when she was alive, came across as a money hungry, very cold woman so it was hard to empathize with her as well as Alex's obsession to finding her killer. There were lots of enjoyable twists in this book and the ending took me somewhat by surprise.
