Book Description:
SHE'D LIKE HER BLOOD BOTTLED, PLEASE!

The sassiest vampire in all of Manhattan, Lil Marchette, is the owner of Dead End Dating -- a matchmaking service for hip, intelligent singles like herself. After only three months, business is booming, and she can finally pay her bills (or, more important, feed a hungry cosmetics addiction). But when one of her clients turns up dead (as in never coming back), Lil is named as the prime suspect. Murder?

Sure, she's a vampire, but she can't even work up her nerve when it comes to blood-sucking. Hacking somebody to pieces is so out of the question.

To make matters worse, Lil must also contend with a pack of werewolves who ask -- no, demand -- that she find each one a tall, dark, and handsome mate before the next full moon. Plus, the to-die-for-if-I wasn't-already-dead Ty Bonner, a lusciously sexy lover but totally unsuitable eternity mate, is never far from her midnight fantasies. But Lil has no time for such thoughts. She must prove her innocence and focus on pairing off the dead and the furry -- and maybe stake a claim to her own tasty true love.

This was NOT anywhere near as close to enjoyable as the first book. I gave up after 120 pages because I was hoping it would improve. The repetitive tackiness of the lead character got old by page 2 and I found myself rolling my eyeballs at the redundancy of the flakiness that the first book offered.

Normally, I love a well-written vamp-lite comedy, but this one borders on awful with it's bimbo of a lead character, Lil, who's more worried about her shoes than anything else. (I believe we've seen this type of character before... Betsy anyone? At least those books were more likable.) And then there's Ty, the bad-boy bounty hunter... umm... Janet Evanovichy a bit?

The majority of the characters in this book, even though they're supposed to be centuries-years-old, are quite juvenile and undeveloped. There are definitely other authors out there who are more creative and witty than this one, so I'll probably skip reading any more books by Ray due to her unoriginality. I'm really glad I didn't buy this book new and just used a PBS credit to get it.

- This is Book 2 "Dead and Dateless" of the "Dead" Series.
- Bk 1 - "Dead End Dating"
- Bk 3 - "Your Coffin or Mine?" will be the next book in the series.

- Wonderfully witty and fun! The only reason this did not receive 5 stars is the storyline was way to slow to get going and just didn't give you something to explore or think about. You know like "Who done it? Why? etc.

- Great series though! Enjoy! =)

Glad I got this one at the library - another interesting concept with an unsatisfying execution. The first book in the series left a cliff-hanger for the heroine born vampire running the dating service and a made vampire private investigator. That tease continues in this book, with a lot of useless witticisms on fashion and interspecies dating. Another installment of the characters with a few drops of romance here and there, and doses of inexplicable lust and secondary characters in sexual situations. Not recommended, this author will just continue this type of extended rambling as long as people spend money on the books - boycott this tripe and cut the weed down before it spreads.

I laughed through out the whole book. Lili is such a lovable, funny, fashion obsessed, ditzy vampire. I can't wait for the next one!

Well I thought DED Book 1 was slow...book 2 is worse. Character has made no progress since book 1 and it was a long, drawn out process for her to wind up in the same spot emotionally at the end of this book than she was at the end of book 1. Seems to have no personal growth and it's getting frustrating reading it. Book does have it's funny parts though, if you can get through the constant repeating of the same background info over and over.

Second book in the series and just as good as the first one. Lil is funny and stylish a real Diva really who would had thought a vampire could turn in to a bat a color other then Black???? Read the book and find out what color bat she turns into.
Someone is out to frame Lil in this book and she has to be protected by bounty hunter TY, who's one hot vampire/bounty hunter... Being around Ty makes Lil hot... Just how hot I'm not telling....
I'm looking forward to reading book 3 Your coffin or Mine?

Fun..Fast paced writing style. Lil is so style conscious and HIP! What a modern girl and she's only 500 plus a few !!! If you enjoy contemporary, fun vampire romance with enough mystery to keep you turning pages..I think you will ge a kick out of this and just in time for light summer reading.

Love the whole chicklit vampire genre, but this novel is a little slow to progress. Lil rocks, but she really needs to decide if Ty is the "one" or just there for "fun".
