Book Description:
Silence is deadly... The murder of eighteen-year-old Angie Vance was exceptionally vile -- her mouth was sealed with glue, an obscenity scrawled across her skin, and she was suffocated in a garbage bag. The killing seems personal, so police detective Carina Kincaid focuses her efforts on the victim's much older ex-boyfriend, Steve Thomas. But without physical evidence, Carina can't make a collar or a case. She also can't stop Sheriff Nick Thomas, the prime suspect's brother, from conducting his own unwelcome investigation.

Though Nick is still scarred and unsteady from a recent confrontation with a serial killer, he's determined to prove his brother's innocence. But his confidence is shaken when he learns of Steve's dark side, and when a friend of the murdered girl meets a similarly gruesome fate. With no time to lose, Carina and Nick work together to trap a psychopath, before another unlucky woman faces an unspeakable end.

This was good. I don't have a lot of time to read anymore and I went through it at warp speed! I consider Lisa Gardner to be the tops in forensic thrillers of those I have read and Allison Brennan is certainly someone to be counted.

This book will grab your attention from the first page. It kept me interested all the way through. I would recommend reading this triology in order,so you can keep up with the characters and their relationships. It helps when references are made throughout each book.

Book was pretty good. First one I have read by Allison Brennan. A little too gruesome at times. Could only read the book during the day.

This is the first book by Allison Brennan I have read, but it won't be the last. My interest was kept from page one and read it in just a short time. I would recommend this book.

This book marks the return of Sheriff Nick Thomas who we first met in the previous book "The Hunt." When a young woman is found brutally murdered, Nick's brother becomes the prime suspect. Nick travels to San Diego to help him out and find out just what's going on with Steve.

I enjoyed this one very much!
