in a word-horrid. Why are these "chic lit" books-supposedly about strong, modern women-filled with such stupid women with obvious low self esteem? And all their lives seem to revolve around bar hopping and getting laid! I'd suggest you skip it.

Fast, fun pace and snappy dialogue...Overall I enjoyed this book although it isn't one of my favorites.

So far I've enjoyed all of the books I've read by Yardley--this one's no exception. A funny fast-paced novel on the ups and downs of single life in Los Angeles, this tale follows Sarah Walker as she moves from a small town in Northern California to the bright lights of LA and tries to shake off her persistent workaholic ex-fiance, Benjamin.

Personally, I like Cathy Yardley's characters because they are more realistically flawed than I expect. Sarah has moved to LA to live with her boyfriend Benjamin. Unfortunately, his promotion falls through and she's stuck there on her own. She finds a roommate, Martika, and comes to realize that Benjamin might not be the right man for her. She ends up going from one extreme to the other trying to find herself and eventually figures most of it out.
