Book Description:
The Plan

Genius physics professor Dr. Jane Darlington desperately wants a baby. But finding a father won't be easy. Jane's super-intelligence made her feel like a freak when she was growing up, and she's determined to spare her own child that suffering. Which means she must find someone very special to father her child. Someone very…well…stupid. The Target

Cal Bonner, the Chicago Stars legendary quarterback, seems like the perfect choice. But his champion good looks and down-home ways are deceiving. Dr. Jane learns too late that this good ol' boy is a lot smarter than he lets on -- and he's not about to be used and abandoned by a brainy, baby-mad schemer. The Explosion

A brilliant, lonely woman who dreams only of motherhood…A take-no-prisoners tough guy who'll settle for nothing less than surrender…Can passion and physical attraction propel two strong-willed yet vulnerable people to a totally unexpected love?

Dr. Jane is tricks a man into getting her pregnant. Hilarity ensues as it turns out he is outraged by her action, does not feel he can trust her and wants to be part of his child's life. SEP's writing is stronger than this book's storyline -- and if anyone can sell a love story about an ethically challenged supergenious, it is she.

I thought this book had alot of charm and wit. More than a few times I caught myself laughing out loud.

I did not like this book at first. I felt uncomfortable with the situation and Cal's response, I felt, was extreme. But then they go to his hometown, and finally Jane finds her family in the Bonners. After Cal stops being an ass, he's okay but I could read and reread the relationships she develops with Cal's Granny and towards the end, Cal's mom. This story has a strong "nothing is what it seems" theme. We all have a story, it's just too bad we can't all go to Heartbreak Mountain and sit with Annie, grow a garden, dance to Rod Stewart and think things through.
SEP is one of the few women authors who do not write other female characters as the enemy! (As mom of 2 daughters, I do not want to read about warring females! ) She is always a pleasure to read!(even if Cal was an ass in the beginning)

Such a cute story! Nobody's Baby But Mine is one of the Chicago Stars series. Jane is too smart for her own good, and upon her birthday decides that her biological clock is ticking. She wants a baby, but with a dumb jock so that her baby won't be bullied for being too smart as she was. Cal is one of the Chicago Stars players and gets a "gift" from his teammates: Jane. These two opposites attract, and SEP continues to wow the readers with another witty romance.

This was probably one of the funniest SEP books I have read. If you enjoyed this one, you will also enjoy Match Me if You Can.
