I loved this book. I'm a huge fan of the "Cat Who..." books. This is not a mystery like the others. Just little anecdotes about Koko and Yum Yum. I laughed all the way through this book.

The Private Life of the Cat Who lets new readers catch up with Koko and Yum Yum
If you are a new reader to the long-running Cat Who mystery series, I can recommend this slim handbook to help you catch up with the cats. The Private Life of the Cat Who by Lilian Jackson Braun devotes short chapters to the accomplishments of the famous Siamese duo of Koko and Yum Yum.
You do know how James Qwilleran came to possess this extraordinarily gifted and whiskered feline, popularly known as Koko, don't you? You DON'T??? Ach, then you must remedy that void in your knowledge of famous literary cats immediately!
In just 135 pages or so you will get caught up on the attributes, skills, and background of the Siamese dynamic duo. YumYum's unfortunate habit of kleptomania is outlined yet we love her anyway. And sometimes she steals key clues to solving the current mystery. And her strange attachment to the silver thimble what is that all about?
You will also treasure words from the wise, from the Wise Koko, that is. And the ways that he finds to make sure that he and Yum Yum do not miss their evening treat at the regular appointed time! Well, he even breaks up fancy parties, he does. But he is not all selfish machismo; he did after all just about go crazy when poor Yum Yum was catnapped!
Read it and be a Cool Cat like Koko. It's an essential addition to your reference shelf!

Cute book but a little redundant from incidents in other "Cat Who" books

The feelings produced by reading about Qwill and his pals can best be compared to that coziest of feelings - having a purring cat on your lap.
