Book Description:
Eleven thousand years ago, before the seas swallowed the Atlanteans, Poseidon assigned a few chosen warriors to act as sentinels for humans in the new world. There was only one rule-desiring them was forbidden. But rules were made to be broken...

When she calls... Riley Dawson is more than a dedicated Virginia Beach social worker. She's blessed with a mind link that only Atlanteans have been able to access for thousands of years. Being an "empath" may explain her wistful connection to the roiling waves of the ocean, the sanctuary it provides, and the sexual urges that seem to emanate from fathoms below...

He will come. Conlan, the High Prince of Atlantis, has surfaced on a mission to retrieve Poseidon's stolen trident. Yet something else has possessed Conlan: the intimate emotions-and desires-of a human. Irresistibly drawn to the uncanny beauty, Conlan soon shares more than his mind. But in the midst of a battle to reclaim Poseidon's power, how long can a forbidden love last between two different souls from two different worlds?

1st I've read by this author and I guess this is a new series for her. All I can say is so far so great. I love these books that mix in the world of Atlantis and of course the gorgeous warriors. This is Prince Conlon's and Riley's story. He was held & torchered by an evil vampire goddess for 7 yrs and survived. She is an empath who can feel his emotions, the 1st in a very long time to do so. When they meet it is an instant attraction that only gets stronger. They must retrieve Poseidan's tridant from the bad guys. Along the way we meet Conlon's 7 who include his brother Ven and best friend and Priest Alaric. We also meet Riley's sister Quinn. This is just the beginning and I am looking forward to more of this story. Happy reading.

The first in a new series about warriors from atlantis and their fight with evil vamps. Not a great read. The heroine was TSTL. Won't be following this series.

This was just an awful book! I got more than 3/4 of the way through and had to stop torturing myself. I'm really glad it didn't cost me anything other than a credit but am kicking myself because I wasted one on the second in the series. After this disastrous start, I took the 3rd off my wish list.

The story really had potential but fell flat to the author's unoriginal and poor writing skills. It read like a bad, cheezy Harlequin novel with characters that used a lot more "grown up" words (swearing). I found it ironic that the main character made the comment of how she felt like she was trapped in a B-Movie... well, a B-Book would be a better explanation. The dialogue was corny and repetitive and the romance cliched and better suited to a late-night movie on Cinemax.

There were also too many conflicting concepts in the story, such as first saying that the Atlanteans had a problem with modern language yet as you read on, they seemed to have no problem with slang and insults. It sometimes reminded me of an old Arnold or Stalone movie (and in a bad way!).

The author falls flat on her face if she's trying to keep up with others in this genre and I wouldn't recommend this one to anyone.

This book had a good original story line, and I liked all the alpha guys! Loved some of the secondary characters. Ven is hilarious. I'll be reading the second book just for him! But I wish it had more substance to it. I think it could have been 'fleshed out' a little more, more emotions, more descriptions, more than just the bare necessities to get the story across.

Interesting concept. Good writing and more of a "romance" than other books I've read with a sci-fi/paranormal element. I'd call it "sci-fi lite". Mix of men from Atlantis, vampires, warewolves...you name it. And humans with paranormal powers. Looking forward to the next one.

Excellent start to a new series ~ they kind of remind me of JR Ward's series, sexy warriors out to save the world!

I really enjoyed this book and normally it would be happily parked on my keeper shelves but I'm trying not to become a book hoarder:LOL:
I'm looking forward to the next in the series (ISBN 0425217965)

The first of a promising series of stories about strong men who live in Atlantis and protect humanity... from a Vampire Senator??
Not many parts for women, Day seems to prefer to develop the male characters.
This first book didn't really paint a good picture for me of the how's and why's. But I am looking forward to reading the other stories in this series, I think Alyssa Day has written four more so far.

Wonderful...loved it...Great action, love and heart racing adult .....
Vampires are bad in this book. The names mean alot in this book so I can see how the names and their meaning play out in other books.
