One way to described the book would sex, sex and more sex. This futurist world, where there are vampires, everything seems to be about sex. Don't get wrong, I mean I love reading erotica novel but when I picked up this book I thought I was going a erotica novel with storyline but honestly it was all just sex. The beginning of the book was very boring and hard to get into, it doesn't start getting good until toward the middle/end of the book that book really picks up. I had no interested in the H/H but rather the villain in the story was more interesting and I had more sympathy for him and his lady love and was hoping he would have his own little happening ending. VERY disappointed with this book. I was expecting better from the author since I read other books by her that were very good. If you are looking for good paranormal with heavy sex scene by Anya Bast then try her witch series.

Erotic paranormal romance by Anya Bast. What the description on the back of the book doesn't tell you, is that this is also a futuristic story. Daria is an Agent who has fought for an assignment, to investigate and bring in the Vampire who broke her heart, used her, and killed her best friend. Daria is so full of anger, and wants justice so badly, that she agrees to become a Vampire to get the job done. She ends up partnered with a Vampire with whom she shared one torrid night, Alejandro, who turns her. What Daria doesn't realize, is that her new partner has always been in love with her. The story is a little predictable, and it took a little while for me to get hooked on the story. But, mid way through, I started to enjoy the story. Not everybody is all bad, and not everybody is all good. Predictable, but entertaining. Some parts are a little hard to accept: A woman who hates vampires, agrees to become one? The sex scenes are scorching. Not a bad read.

I have mixed feelings about the book set many years into the future when humans have left Earth for another galaxy. I really wanted to like this book, but parts of it just didn't work for me. What worked - The hero is wonderful. He's the right mix of tough and sweet. He's protective, sexy, smart, and funny. Unlike most paranomal novels, the hero isn't white. He's a Latino. He's also a vampire and he turns the heroine into a vampire at her request. She needs to be a vampire to get revenge on the villain who is a 400-year old vampire. The hero is loving and very considerate. The author has a way of creating imagery that's just lovely. I could picture this lawless desolate planet where much of the story took place. The villain is much more interesting and complex than most bad guys.

What didn't work - The heroine is very unlikable. She's selfish, cold, and angry much of the time. She's insensitive to the hero. I had a hard time mustering any sympathy for her or her desire for revenge. She constantly pushes the hero away for no good reason. She's nice to him then she's not nice to him. She wants him then she doesn't want him. She takes what she wants from him, but denies his need for her. It's the old "I must resist my attraction to him so that he doesn't hurt me." Her constant pushing and pulling of his affections gets tedious. There wasn't any good reason for her to keep him so much at arm's length. They had known each other for years and had worked together as colleagues. He was clearly head over heels in love with her. You want to tell her to put on her big girl panties and deal with her emotions. I really didn't care about her and when you don't care about the protagonist, it's hard to like the book.

The book was a little confusing and hard to get into the story line. I lost interest half way through and gave up on it. I really wanted to like this book because I've read other books by this Author and enjoyed them. This book however just seemed to be lacking something. It's definitely not a keeper so I'm Swapping it maybe the next reader will like it.

I liked this book and like the world the author is creating. I don't know if any other books are planned to follow this one. If anyone know, let me know. I think that Ari's story would be enough for another book as well as the personalities of the other worlds. There are 4 total in addition to earth.

Story has a lot of ADULT romance as well as a side of suspense. The best parts were the Romance. The story ended way to quickly and left a lot out. I would read her again.
