Book Description:
On the surface Stony Mill, Indiana is a quiet gentle Midwestern town in which everyone knows their neighbors and no one locks their cars. Looks can be deceiving; just ask apprentice witch Maggie O'Neill or her boss at Enchantments powerful witch Felicity Davis. Felicity has been teaching Maggie the craft and how to do Magick. Maggie is with her sort of boyfriend Tom, a police officer, when he gets a call to go to the food mill where they find hanging up on the conveyor a dummy in effigy and a warning note to the owner -- Joel Turner. They put it down as a dumb harmless prank. A few days later Joel is found dead from a fall into a silo. On a lighter note, Maggie spends time with her nieces and pregnant sister Mel who needs bed rest. The nieces believe in house ghosts, but darker energy permeates the home. Fearing what the malevolence will do, Maggie, Felicity and practicing witch Marcus try to force the spirit to go into the light. Ironically Maggie is in danger from a human who wants her dead.

Once again Maggie is up to her eyes in a murder mystery. He sister needs her help along with her friends because of the paranormal activities at her home. Madelyn Alt gave another great book in the Bewitching series. Easy to read and great story line and characters. Oh, then there is the new black cat Minnie.

Excellent! This installment seemed to have a little more depth and an overall better flow for me. This is probably my favorite in the series thus far. The romantic component wasn't as strong as I was expecting, but the paranormal aspects were outstanding. And, personally, I'm more into the paranormal and mystery aspects than anything else so that really worked for me. I can't wait to read more! I need to meet Felicity in real life so that I can find out if there is a spell that will help the author finish her next manuscript faster!

# 4 in Madelyn Alt's bewitching mystery series. I really enjoyed this book. It was a very quick read. Alt's characters seem almostalive. Light hearted and fun with a twist. I can't wait to get my hands on her next book!

Maggie gets roped into helping at her snobby sisters house. Mel is bedridden due to a troubled pregnancy and maggie is caring for the two litle girls. The two introduce her to coco a "imaginary" friend and Maggie suspects there is more.
When Mel has a girls get together they break out the oujia board and summon they thought Coco. But it turns out to be something entirely differant and very pissed.
Maggie finds mel and her friends huddled in the bedroom, and mom locked in the basement.
Across town at the feed mill, a straw man is strung up near one of the silo's is it more than a threat of a unhappy farmer about prices?
How will Maggie get rid of Mel's unwanted guest, and who is threatening the feed mill's owners.
Maggie gets her nose in it again, and a love is brewing between maggie and Marcus.
Oh and Maggie finally get a cat! A cute kitten adopts her!

This is my least favorite book in the series. Maggie spent the last 3 books keeping away from her aggravating sister for a reason. Unfortunately, this book revolves around her pregnant bed-ridden sister. It is now very clear why Maggie ignores Mel. The first half of the book is Mel ordering Maggie around. Very tedious and annoying.

Luckily, the second half of the book is better or I would have rated it 1 star instead of 2. In the last two books, Maggie is pulled between two guys -- Tom (the cop) and Marcus (the witch). Personally I don't see the problem. Tom doesn't embrace the witchy side of Maggie and is actively scared of all things mystical. All Maggie does with Tom is beat her head against the wall. I particularly like Marcus and hope at some point that Maggie chooses him. Her boss, Liss, seems like a rather interesting person and it would be nice if she finds a man as well. It is a romance after all.

A continuation of the first 3 books in this series. I think one is the most suspenseful so far. I couldn't wait to pick it up and see 'Who Did it'. I enjoyed it very much.

Although I love this series, I didn't think this book was quite as good as those in the past. I will definitely continue to read the series and am anxiously awaiting book #5.
