Excellent book. loved it. Trevor Sheridan was a ruthlessly man and he had the means to do whatever he choose to do to anyone and he bankrupted Alana Van Alen's Uncle and her inheritance went with it. so she needed to get her money back. So Trevor gave her only one way out of her perdictment. Marry him.

I first read this book years and years ago. It is one of my faves. I love the time period and the setting of the book. Early New York. I love Trevor Sheridan. He is ruthless and hell bent on vengeance for his illegitimate sister. And he uses Alana Van Allen to punish her and help his sister by forcing her to marry him. I just wish there weren't quite so many little misunderstandings between them. Half of what was in the book probably would have sufficed. But, as I said, one of my all time favorites.
