Book Description:
Powerful. Sensual. Seductive. He is all that is shamelessly erotic in a man. In her sexiest Highlander novel yet, New York Times bestselling author Karen Moning stirs up a sizzling brew of ancient mystery and modern passion as she brings together a devilishly handsome Celtic warrior trapped in time... and the woman who's about to pay the ultimate price for freeing him. Age-old secrets haunt them. Deadly danger and irresistible desire shadow their every move. It's a relationship for the ages. And all that separates them is a mere thirteen hundred years....

Jessi St. James has got to get a life. Too many hours studying ancient artifacts has given the hardworking archaeology student a bad case of sex on the brain. So she figures she must be dreaming when she spies a gorgeous half-naked man staring out at her from inside the silvery glass of an ancient mirror. But when a split-second decision saves her from a terrifying attempt on her life, Jessi suddenly finds herself confronting six and a half feet of smoldering, insatiable alpha male.

Heir to the arcane magic of his Druid ancestors, eleven centuries ago Cian MacKeltar was trapped inside the Dark Glass, one of four coveted Unseelie Hallows, objects of unspeakable power. When the Dark Glass is stolen, an ancient enemy will stop at nothing to reclaim it, destroying everything in his path -- including the one woman who may just hold the key to breaking the ninth-century Highlander's dark spell. For Jessi, the muscle-bound sex god in the mirror is not only tantalizingly real, he's offering his protection -- from exactly what, Jessi doesn't know. And all he wants in exchange is the exquisite pleasure of sharing her bed.

Yet even as Cian's insatiable hunger begins to work its dark magic on Jessi, his ancient enemy is about to obtain the final and most dangerous of the Unseelie Hallows -- and the ninth-century Highlander must stop him from getting it. Nothing less than the very fabric of the universe and two passionately entwined lives are at stake-as Cian and Jessi fight to claim the kind of love that comes along but once in an ice age....

This is the second time now that I've been a bit disappointed with a book in this series. I had really hoped it would be better than the last one (The Immortal Highlander), but it's really just more of the same. The stories just keep going "Oh, no! We have a deadly problem! Let's run to Castle MacKelter!" It's really getting old and it makes me not look forward to the future books that will eventually come out in this series. (As is promised by the author.)

This is book 8 in the series. I just love these time travel romance novels. KMM takes me back to a time when romance novels where more descriptive and sexual. In fact I even recently received Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon and can't wait to read it as I was told this is very similar to KMM.

The story into which Spell of the Highlander is embedded is fascinating. It is a story that spans KMM's Highlander series, and leads into her brand new 'Fever' series. The book is worth reading just to understand key elements of this overall epic! In fact it is a must have.

Cian is a powerful Druid, and there are reasons to believe that his time being trapped in the mirror was by design, to bring him forward, with his kinsmen, also trapped in the 21st century from the 16th century, to fight an epic battle that is still to come in the series. But the fun part is watching this arrogant former Celtic Laird from the 9th century make adjustments to dealing with a modern woman and modern society. He is an old fashioned man with the manners of a caveman, but also one of the most compelling characters in this genre today. And watching him interact with his kinsmen, protagonists from other books by the same author, is priceless!

This is a great book, I got it on a whim and was so glad I did. It is a series of books dealing with magic and highlanders and the women they meet. The story lines are amazing and the characters are well-developed. The sex is so fantastic. I love a good story and even better with some great fantastic drawn out sex. So, if are secretly wishing for a man who knows what he wants and demands it, then you had better get yourself hooked onto this series.

Who wouldn't like to look in an antique mirror and find a sexy hunk who asks you to release him. When Jessie does so he can save her life, the adventure is just starting. Magic mirrors and an ancestor to the MacKeltar men from the earlier books....yum.

I loved this book. The entire series is amazing. I'm not into time travel books, but this series made me think twice. The author created a series that linked the stories without creating a carbon copy each time. I've read some series that the stories were too a like. Not here. They are very different stories, but seems to be able to relate them in an interesting way. I can't wait to read more of her books.

I really loved this book I would like to get them all if I could. Hooked from beginning to end!!!

Okay seriously? I'm tired of writing stuff in these books that make you go "Huh? I don't remember that" and then have to go searching through one of the previous books in the series to figure something out. It's gotten darned irritating. Bad enough with book 6, now I'm only in the prologue of book 7 and have to do it again?
The four hallows in book 4 were a spear, stone, sword, and cauldron. Now it's a book and a mirror and something else? COME ON!!!

I've read all the books . . . the heros all look the same. . . the heroines all look the same . . . they all "sizzle" . . . the all say the same words . . . . they last books in this series became very formulaic. That said, I wouldn't NOT read it . . . I probably would have enjoyed them more if I had spread them out and not read them all back-to-back in a two week period.

Spell of the Highlander is one of my favorite in the series. It is a little darker than the others, and intertwines present day, thus not back in old Scotland. Cian may be my favorite Highlander yet. If you are a fan of Karen Marie Moning's other series you see how more othe charcters tie togheter and start figuring out some of the underlaning plot in that series as well. A good read.
