This was a very enjoyable book. Good for many teens to read.

I read in an interview of Judy Blume years ago that THIS was her most-banned book, which surprised me a bit. I loved it as much as all her other books--I read all her books at least twice between 4th & 7th grade. It's a bit dated with the medical procedures & such, but I would still highly recommend it to any girl/boy who has scholiosis or a similar condition.

Great book for a young reader! I read it when I was young and then passed it onto my niece. She loved it!
When Deenie sees the brace for the first time, she wants to scream, Forget it....I'm never going ot wear that thing. Everyone will know. Everyone!
But the words won't come out. And Deenie, beautiful Deenie, who everyone says should be a model, is stuck wearing a brace fomr her neck to her hips. For four years-or longer. How will she ever face the hard times ahead of her.
