Certainly not heavy (hard core) SciFi, but fun and funny. In fact I laughed out loud several times throughout the book. Also, upon completion, I ordered the second book about Phule. So I guess I really liked it.
If you enjoy light SciFi, with humorus, entertaining writing style, this is a good book.

A fun romp! This book not only paints an enjoyable picture of military screwups at their best, it also includes honest-to-goodness real gems of management technique. This was a page-turner, and a lovely vacation from the Real World.

Because of the cover art, I picked up Robert Asprin's Myth omnibus edition. Over the course of several months, I devoured that series. So, I picked up his Phule series to attempt to read this. Not the same, but still good. He doesn't capitalize on puns nearly as much as in the Myth series, but still has outstanding character development. A fun, and quick read. Good beach or other vacation reading.

The few. The proud. The stupid. The inept. Meet the soldiers of Phule's Company. They do more damage before 9am than most people do all day... and they're mankind's last hope.
It's more than a job - it's a misadventure!
