Book Description:
There was a time when the world was sweeter . . . when the women in Beaufort, North Carolina, wore dresses, and the men donned hats . . .

Every April, when the wind smells of both the sea and lilacs, Landon Carter remembers his last year at Beaufort High. Landon had dated a girl or two, and even once sworn that he'd been in love. Certainly the last person he thought he'd fall for was Jamie, the shy, almost ethereal daughter of the town's Baptist minister. Jamie, who was destined to show him the depths of the human heart, and the joy and pain of living.

Another compassionate story that touches your soul. Nicholas Sparks really knows how to tell a love story...

This is a quick, easy read. It's a very sweet story about friendship and love - didn't make me cry, but I enjoyed it. I won't compare it to the movie since I found that the book and the movie really didn't seem to be very similar at all (in my opinion).

This was a really good book. It was set in a different time than the movie, but it was good. I think I like the movie a tad bit more, which is rare!

I have read this book a few times growing up, and I still love it. It is a very touching story, yet an easy read. I would describe it as a sad love story, yet lessons are learned throughout.

Seeing the movie made me want to read this book. While the movie made me (and even my husband!) cry, the book did not. Still, a sweet, tender love story and the beauty that lies within us and the power of one person to change another.

This was my first Nicholas Sparks book and is a great one to start with for people who are just getting into him.

This touching story of young love is so beautiful and sweet. It makes you rethink what most people would pass off as puppy love for sure. This is probably one of my favorite Sparks books. I have a good cleansing cry each time I read it. I am also reminded that love, no matter how short lived or how much it hurts when it's over, is always worth the ache.

Whether or not you have seen the movie, this beautiful love story will take you on an emotional journey of love, commitment, and a metamorphasis of its two characters. READ IT READ IT READ IT!!! You won't POSSIBLE regret it.

I think I would have liked it better if I had been a teenager when I read it. It's a sweet and innocence story, but a little too sappy for my current tastes.

A romantic tale unwinds and will touch your heartstrings.

This is a beautiful story about two people from different world's coming together and not caring about what other's think. It's a little sad, but a great read. I'd definately recommend it. It is a little different from the movie also.
