I was a bit conflicted when I first heard about this book, I mean, a werewolf DJ named, of all things, Kitty? - but I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised and I'm now looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

Kitty makes a believable journey from progressive midnight DJ to late night talk show host of the weird and wacky. The author's delivery and developement of her world is charming and competent. Its not as dark as Laurel Hamilton's series, but not nearly as light and fluffy as Mary Janice Davidson's Undead world...maybe about the level of the Charlaine Harris Southern Vampire novels, though it takes itself more seriously.

There are a couple of shadowed anti-heroes (Rick the semi friendly Vampire, helping Kitty for his own mysterious reasons; and a human bounty hunter, a sort of warmer fuzzier version of Laurel Hamilton's Edward, the bounty hunter who often makes appearances in the Anita Blake series) whose stories I hope will be more developed and whose paths will cross Kitty's again in future.

A good read, well worth the time, and I can only hope the author's world will be even better realized in future!

This was a pretty decent start to a new series, and I'm looking forward to reading it's followup, Kitty Goes to Washington, which I have here in my TBR as well.

Kitty and the Midnight Hour definitely sets up the situation for the sequel, where paranormals are finally recognized by the masses, and the Government releases scientific reports proving their existence. But in this book, most of the population doesn't yet believe, and both vamps and werewolves remain in the closet, hiding their true identity, and if they cannot do that, hiding from humanity completely.

Kitty's radio show, The Midnight Hour, which starts off as a fluke phone call taken over the air, becomes tremendously popular and is syndicated around the US. Other paranormals, as well as humans, appreciate Kitty's show since it allows them to call in with questions, or simply to talk about certain subjects, particularly if it's something they cannot discuss with their alpha or master. But The Midnight Hour also makes Kitty a target in other ways...

I was very surprised by how much I liked this book! I wasn't too sure what to expect, not knowing all that much about werewolves and all. But the author turned the tables on me, and created such a fantastic and believable world that I was sucked right in. I loved how Kitty grew and matured as a person (and a werewolf) and how she always does what she thinks is right, even if it may get her butt kicked. I liked the dynamics of the wolf pack and how everyone behaved accordingly. Her relationships are important to her, her friends are family.
I'm interested in seeing more of Cormac, the werewolf hunter, he seems like he could pop up again when Kitty needs a hand.
I'll be looking for more of Kitty's adventures!

The premise: Kitty Norville is a late night radio DJ and secretly two years into being a werewolf. One night she idly mentions a Bat Boy article, and this kicks off an impromptu talk show on creatures of the night. Suddenly, a weekly show about the supernatural is born. Kitty calls it The Midnight Hour, and it's a big success. Of course, not everyone is happy, like Arturo the head of the local vampire coven or Carl and Meg, her werewolf pack alpha and his mate, but Kitty finds herself increasingly proud of her show and will do anything to keep it.

Quite an enjoyable read - worth a try for all urban fantasy fans. Although there are some dark moments and grey areas which may turn off others, I breezed through this fairly fast, and I'm glad that I have the second book waiting. While this ended in a good place, there is definitely a lot more that you want to find out. Kitty and the Midnight Hour lays down the foundation. The world building is such that you understand what is going on, but you know that there is more, and you want to keep reading to find out what else is there.

This book started slow, but I'm glad I stuck with it. It really picked up and got interesting! I can't wait to see what happens next with Kitty!

Kitty Norville is a relatively new werewolf who is resigned to her status at the bottom of the pack. She tries to stay in touch with her human side because of the positives including music, and hosts a late night radio show during which she can play her favorites and takes listener requests. One night a called seems more interested in discussing vampires than Siouxsie and the Banshees, and her discussion with the caller results in an unprecedented interest in the show. Her music show quickly turns into a Dr. Phil for the supernatural. The show's popularity grows, much to the disapproval of Kitty's pack leader, who does not like the exposure Kitty's show brings to their secret world. He also does not like changes success brings Kitty, who he is accustomed to using and bullying as is accepted in werewolf society. Ultimately her radio show jeopardizes her relationship with her pack and even her life.

I enjoyed this book very much because instead of focusing on action and romance Kitty and the Midnight Hour focuses on its character's development. Kitty is a likable heroine who you will find yourself cheering for by the end of the book. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.

This was a very good book, and it ended well. However, I was initially put off by the subservient factor. I guess I'm used to reading paranormal books where the heros are stronger. But I will be looking forward to the next in the series!

I liked the premise of this book but the more I read, the less I liked Kitty. She was a victim pretty much throughout the book. She has a few standout moments but ultimately she whines and someone else saves her or cleans up after her. I realize that the author was trying to show her making a transition from a victim to a strong and empowered person, but she fell short. In the end, Kitty had not evolved very much.

Kitty, the werewolf call-in radio host, has quite a bit to deal with when she gets on the bad side of her pack leader and local Vampire Lord... Great read!

Enjoyed reading it and have already started on the next book in the series (Kitty Goes to Washington). Thought the author could have gone into more detail about Kitty "coming out" and the repercussions on the rest of society, but other than glossing over on that aspect of the story, I found it fun to read. Hope to see the characters fleshed-out a bit more in the next book.

I really liked this story.. It was interesting right off the bat and she really gives you a god feel for the characters in the book and how kitty is feeling. I like it when the writer makes you really feel the emotions of the character and the descriptions of where she or he is at in the story so you almost feel like your right there. I felt like that in this book.

I injoyed this book it was fun and had a good story line. It opened up a lot of interesting ideas.

A very enjoyable book of the genre. I liked the pacing and the way the author developed the characters and setting. Also, it was refreshing to have a werewolf rather than a vampire as the star supernatural.

Love this series!

This book reminded me of the Anita Blake series by Laurell K Hamilton. Even with an Edward type character. Still a good read.

This is a great beginning to a great series. I highly recommend it.

Start of a great new series about werewolves.

If you like Anita Blake or novels, authors Kim Harrison or early Laurell K. Hamilton then you will enjoy this. Werewolves instead of Vampires but much fun to be had.
