Charles "Chaz" Perrone fancies himself a take-charge kind of guy. So when this "biologist by default" suspects that his curvaceous wife, Joey, has stumbled onto a profitable pollution scam he's running on behalf of Florida agribusiness mogul Red Hammernut, he sets out right away to solve the problem--by heaving Joey off the deck of a luxury cruise liner and into the Atlantic Ocean, far from Key West. But--whoops!--Joey, a former swimming champ, doesn't drown. Instead, as Carl Hiaasen tells in his 10th adult novel, Skinny Dip, she makes her way back to shore, thanks both to a wayward bale of Jamaican marijuana and lonerish ex-cop Mick Stranahan (Skin Tight, 1989), and then launches a bogus blackmail campaign that's guaranteed to drive her lazy, libidinous hubby into a self-protective frenzy.

Considering how trying to kill your wife could be funny, this book is hilarious! It reminds me a bit of Evanovich in how she has so much serious stuff going on yet adds humor; yet it's different too. I enjoyed this book a lot. you have to read it to unfold the entire mystery and how so much stuff keeps coming around and going wrong!

My first Carl Haissen book and it won't be my last. This book is all about revenge and the best way to serve it. I got a big kick out of how the main character and her new beau tried to make her husband nuts, and in the end won. Lots of chuckles along with way.

An amusing summer read. Great for fun and sun by the pool, but not a great piece of literature.

Hiaasen "borrows" tidbits from real news stories and scatters them in this hilarious book about revenge. His humor is dry and sometimes a bit perverse, but his ideas are fresh and his characters are memorable. You can't go wrong with this author, whose books are always set in southern Florida.

A fun read. Comic and eccentric characters, and a fast-moving plot

We read this book in our book club. We all found it a light hearted, funny story. It was a nice book to read, especially after reading something dark or disturbing.
