Kwani. A beautiful woman born in the American southwest long before Columbus...whose blue eyes marked her as a witch and set her apart from the Indian tribe that raised her.
Following her path of destiny in a vanished world of great stone cities and trackless wilderness, warring tribes and mysterious travelers from other lands, Kwani found love with Kokopelli, the Toltec magician, who rescued her from death and took her to the Place of the Eagle Clan. There she was transformed from an outcast to the Chosen of the Gods, where she became She Who Remembers and taught young girls the ancient secrets only women know...secrets that provided her with inner power to overcome and triumph-and change her life forever.

One of the best books I've read. What an adventure! I couldn't put it down and didn't want it to end. Thank goodness there are sequels. I read it years ago and still can't part with my copy of the book. Wonderful story.

A saga of American pre-history, about the life of a woman born in pre-Columbian American southwest. Very entertaining and good character development.

The novel of America's prehistory.. I loved this compelling story. It would not let me go! Jean M. Auel, author of The Clan of the Cave Bear.

"Revealing and Fascinating...does for our country what Jean Auel did with her incredibly researched, delightfully erotic novels of prehistoric Europe." - Houston Post

My mother seemed to enjoy this book, but I couldn't really tell for certain-she reads about 3-4 books a week. All I know is she finished it, so that must count for something as I couldn't do the same.

If you love stories of pre-history peoples, this is a good one to read. This story takes place in the American Southwest. Kwani finds love with Kokopelli. He rescues her from death and takes her to the Place of the Eagle Clan. She learns secrets only women know and passes the knowledge on to young girls. First of a two book set.
