Book Description:
Ever since a master vampire became possessed and bit a bunch of parents, the town of Broken Heart, Oklahoma, has catered to those of us who don't rise until sunset- even if ther means PTA meetings at midnight.

As for me, Eva LeRoy, town librarian and single mother to a teenage daughter, I'm pretty much used to being "vampified." You can't beat the great side effects: no crow's-feet or cellulite!

Eva LeRoy, Broken Heart, Oklahoma's librarian, got "vampified" when everyone else did: during a rogue vampire's feeding frenzy. But books still make her undead heart beat-and, strangely enough, so does Lorcan the Loner, the vampire who killed her...

Don’t Talk Back To Your Vampire
Michelle Bardsley
3 out of 5

The first in this series was good, this one just fell flat.

Broken Heart, Oklahoma is still getting back on it’s feet after the Consortium came to town and turned eleven single mothers into vampires. This story is told by town librarian Eva. Now all she has to do is fight off the Wraiths and find out how to get Lorcan, the twin brother of Patrick, from the first book, to see her in a whole new way.

The only thing that kept me reading was very interesting magical lore that is interwoven periodically through this story.

I personally did not enjoy this book. As I got to the middle I kept wishing for the book to hurry up and end cause I was really bored with it. I did not read the first book and maybe this is why I was bored with this one. The characters didn't really develop for me. Eva did a little bit, but Lorcan's character was just kind of blah and he was so depressed all the time. At times I would forget that he was even part of the story. Then there is a part where Eva argues with an enemy (won't spoil) but that was kind of un-exciting as well. I was really left with wanting more spark, more romance, more something! I didn't care for the made up words, the Gaelic speak, and some of the thrown in Mythology.
And a good thing to know, is there is a little glossary at the back of the book that explains what the Gaelic words mean, what the made up words mean and some explanation of Vampire lore etc. That would have been helpful to know before I read the whole book. Found it after I finished this book. So overall, thumbs down.

Second book in a reall fun series. I literally would laugh out loud while I was reading this book. My husband actually told me not to read it in bed if I was going to be so loud...lol

**** Another great book from Bardsley. Almost as good as I'm a Vampire That's Why. Must read if you love paranormal.

I loved it.. It's not very often I can find a book that makes me giggle. This one did, plus in some part it had you wondering if the heroine would get out of trouble... The first book talked about the changing a bunch of single parents in Broken Heart and about Jessica and Patrick... This one follows Eva the town Librarian and Lorcan..
Can't wait to read Because your Vampire said so coming June 2008

2nd one in the series, first was I'm The Vampire, That's Why. They are funny and fast reads and I really enjoyed them.

It was ok. A little too breezy and neat for my tastes, but entertaining. It's mind candy.

This one is about Eva (Jessica's friend) and Lorcan (Patrick's brother). Cute.

2nd in series, but you don't have to read the first one to get it. I enjoyed it much more than the first one...probably b/c Eva is much different than Jessica (I think that's her name from the first one) Very good book!

I liked this second book in the Broken Heart Vampires series a bit more than I liked the first for some reason. I will go on to read the next book in the series eventually. I think there are about 5 or 6 books in this series now.

I think I liked this book more that the first one because:

a) The backstory had already been set in book 1, so there wasn't so much bouncing around between the current story and why/how the characters got to where they were today
b) The main female character (Eva LeRoy) is a self-taught librarian and she and her daughter use some fabulous words. It stretched my vocabulary!! (I LOVE words)
c) I've bought into the premise of Broken Heart, Oklahoma so now I can just settle in for the ride.
d) I like the love story between Lorcan and Eva. It wasn't as angst ridden as the first book.
