I ordered this anthology to read the Sabrina Jeffries novella, and it was the only one worth reading ... in fact I didn't finish any of the other 3 novellas.

Ugh. If I read one more of these anthologies...they're turning me off the fantasy & supernatural genre, I swear. Horrid. Not one redeemable nugget among them. Trite, tepid, & eye-rollingly predictable. Insipid, sleep-inducing dialogue. Mind you, I already thought that Feehan was the worst writer in the genre, and I'd tried a book by Emma Holly (Menage), which proved to me that it IS actually possible, with a true gift like hers, to make a book about a threesome so boring you can't wade through it.

I hate that feeling you get when you're reading one of these...that the author started out trying to do a full length story and then got a call for a short story and went, "well, I'll wrap it up then!" in three pages.

Skip it. Not worth your time.

Four excellent stories by four of the best! Each stosry had a very strong plot, well developed h/h.
The Widow's Auction (Jeffries) is set in England, where a very proper widow is challenged by a handsome aristo who wants to include a factory in her orphanage for boys. Her best friend goads her into the "widow's auction" at a mens club to get her out of her workaholism/mourning.
Luisa's Desire(Emma Holly) is set in Tibet, where paranormal meets yogi.
Mr. Speedy (Elda Minger)two top reporters set out to write an inside story on the latest sensation: a weekend seminar for men which guarantees
"The Swiftest Seduction"- 24 hours from "Hello" to "It was good for me".
The Awakening (Feehan). She's an exotic animal vet lured to the jungles of Borneo in spite of every warning of danger. He's a hottie in any climate and welcomes her back to her first home.
All four hold up well, for a change!

I wanted this book so I could read Christine Feehan's 1st story of the Leopard People, The Awakening. After being #50 in line for the book Fever that she released that has both her Leopard People stories together I decided I couldn't wait to read it, so I went this route. I am glad I did, for now the second story Wild Rain is on its way to me, I am really excited.
The other short stories by other authors are just okay, some were good, one was very hard to get thru. Of course I read Feehan's Story first.
Love it!

Four good stories...plus anthologies are a nice way to get to read a new author without committing to a whole long novel...I enjoyed this one

I thought this book was pretty good overall. It was my first time reading anything by all four of the authors, and I have found a new favorite in Feehan. I will be ordering the rest of that series for sure. I also enjoyed The Widow's Auction by Sabrina Jeffries. My least favorite of the four was Luisa's Desire by Emma Holly. It is the first in a series too, and I'm not all that sure I will read any more of them. As far as Mr. Speedy by Elda Minger, it had many eye-rolling moments. I think it could have been a cute story, but seriously, does a guy really show that much concern for a "guy" he just met?
