Very useful guide to all aspects of care from birth through early childhood. Excellent. I wouldn't part with it, but my daughter is just turning 5, and we've outgrown it. A must have, as it's chock full of reassuring info and guidance I haven't seen in other books of its type. From the American Academy of Pediatrics, so it reflects their stance on issues such as extended breastfeeding, co-sleeping and various other choices parents may make. Nevertheless, the medical info is sound, the developmental info is complete and clearly presented, and you'll find advice about when your child needs to see the doctor, home care for various ailments, basic newborn care, age-appropriate discipline, considerations for child-care/preschool selection, helping your child cope during family crises, managing sibling issues, and much more.
