this book was given to me by a friend and I have not read it. looking for a good home for this book because I am not a star trek fan

A routine survey of the planet Alpha Octavius Four turns disastrous as Spock is attacked and poisoned by a huge creature and Kirk's landing party is trapped underground by a violent earthquake.
