Despite the fact that I typically don't have a whole lot of respect for Dr. Phil, I found this book to be a really good guide to achieving and maintaining a health weight. The first section of the book gets you motivated and into the correct head space for making changes in your life. The second section is more focused on learning the tools and information necessary to be successful. What I like about this book is that it frames weight loss not just from the perspective of a "diet" and instead focuses on lifelong changes and choices geared towards being healthy. I started out my weight loss journey with this book, joined Weight Watchers, and I've lost the weight. This book is really a great resource and I recommend it to you completely.

Well, great tips. But as weight loss goes, you have to be ready to make a life change.

The facts are the same, but the way he delivers it is his good ol' Southern psychologist style.
Remember, when it comes to weight loss, you are a volunteer, not a victim.
