Book Description:
Fourteen year Trixie Stone is in love for the first time. She's also the light of her father, Daniels' life -- a straight A student; a pretty, popular freshman in high school; a girl who's always seen her father as a hero. That is, until her world is turned upside down with a single act of violence. Suddenly everything Trixie has believed about her family -- and herself -- seems to be a lie. Could the boyfriend who once made Trixie wild with happiness have been the one to end her childhood forever? She says that he is, and that is all it takes to make Daniel, a seemingly mild-mannered comic book artist with a secret tumultuous past he has hidden even from his family, venture to hell and back to protect his daughter.

Absolutely love Jodi. Can not put her books down once I start. This particular one contains some adult scenes; teenage drugs and sex; be advised. Otherwise, great story - as always.

I enjoyed the first 3/4 of this book. I sympathized with the main character even though I had a hard time resolving the 14 year old character the author created with the 14 year old girls I actually know. I also really enjoyed the convention of incorporating graphic novel components into a traditional novel. However, I felt the last 1/4 of the book was forced and rambled a bit in order to force a conflict resolution that fit with the tenth circle of hell concept of the book. Plus the author gave us enough clues to know who-dunnit 100 pages before the book ended with no ending plot twists to prove us wrong.

Certainly not my favorite Picoult book. I found the graphic novel dark and hard to read and the ending very easy to see coming. Regardless, the characters were very likable and I had a hard time stopping once I started reading.

Another good book by Jodi Picoult. Certainly a mix of mystique and proven test of loyalty and love. The only thing in the book disappointing to me was the mixture of comics. I'm not sure if it was done to entice the male reader, but I found it disruptive.

I think there's only been one Picoult book I didn't like and no, this wasn't it!! 5 star read, as she pulled me in and I didn't want to do anything but finish this one the weekend I started the book. Picoult does her research well and creates characters you'll come to care about and hate to say goodbye to. I loved this one.

This book was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I like Picoult before this book, but this is by far her best work. Even when I had to work for 8 hours, I managed to finish this book in less than 24. You'll enjoy it immensely.

Another amazing book from gifted writer Jodi Picoult. This book takes you in directions you aren't expecting and the ending is a surprise. If you are a Picoult fan, you CANNOT miss this book. I couldn't put it down!!!

Like all of her books I've read, this one drew me in. It will open some eyes about teens and how young some begin entering a world that in reality they are not mature enough to handle, even with "good" parents. A story that also explores how at times we see things more with our hearts than our eyes. The comic thing was a little distracting to me, but overall a good, fast read.

I have only recently started reading Jodi Picoult's books. This is the second one that I have read. Her books are easy reads, but usually deal with a semi-controversial issue.

A family in crisis. Another gripping tale of tennagers and family members running amuck. A good read.

Another great book from Jodi Picoult! She really knows how to keep the reader interested. This book is about teen rape and the conflicts the parties involved have to go through after it happens.

Jodi Picoult is an amazing author. This was the first book I've read of hers which just led up me reading all of them! I saw the movie on Lifetime and was unimpressed as always with movies, but as always with the characters in her novels I really could feel and see where each of them were coming from.

another great book by Picoult! teens will love the way in which the author let's the father in the story express his feelings by way of his profession (comic book artistry)

Inconsistent story line with hard-to-follow scenes. This books disappoints in every way. I did not like the characters, and felt the whole time like I was not drawn into the story at all. The ending is very contrived and unsatisfying, with many details added at the end.

Another great book by a great author. Jodi Picoult keeps with her great story telling of family problems and how they get through them together.
