An interesting book that is more a thorough collection of short discussions of bible lore related to angels than a "Who's Who" as it were. People choosing this book will learn how angels are ranked, names reflecting the qualities of those ranks, descriptions of how angels are viewed currently in religion including new age religion, and what these angels do in regards to their duties and their interactions with human beings as according to the Bible. This book also explains common names and history behind them (IE "The Evil One", "Sons of God", "The Four Angels of the Four Winds", etc.) It should be stated this is *not* a hocus pocus book to call upon or bind angels to your service.

People looking for a reference book they can flip through by name to find "Belial" and his history by will, or "Joth", the secret name of God and who was told this name, would do better to pick up a copy of "A Dictionary of Angels" by Gustav Davidson. However, "Names of Angels" is still a good valid selection for devoted Christians who are curious about the bigger picture of God's messengers and how they relate to this ancient and deeply rooted religion.
